Yep Shark Tank is the US version of Dragon's Den. The BBC interview (unfortunately cut here) was based off of an actual error when the wrong person was interviewed.
Dragons Den is the British equivalent to Shark Tank (the show where people pitch business ideas to business owners and hope to get funding).
Just so you know, Dragon's Den was first and both Shark Tank & Dragon's Den are actually spin-offs of the Japanese show Money Tigers. Just like American Idol is a spin-off of the UK's Pop Idol and AGT is a xpin-off of Britain's Got Talent.
