Honestly you guys are amazing. All the people who work behind and upfront English Heritage just have the most beautiful minds. Thank you for your hard work!
...we do? Not to this level in all places but have you ever been to Mount Vernon? Jamestown? Designated historical buildings all over the east coast? We have them, just look.
The biggest shout-out in the world to your exhibit design, interpretation, and education teams!! This is such a unique and innovative exhibit concept that sounds as if it will be just THRILLING to visit! I can only begin to imagine the amount of work it took create this. If I didn't live on another continent, I'd be there in a heart beat!
As always, this historical site has really prepared an outstanding expierence for anyone! The candle interpretative is such an amazing idea! It will be exciting for the vistors!! Great work - thank you!
This is beautifully done !! Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼 I live for my family history now that I’ve begun researching ! I really enjoy learning more and more about the history of my family . The best is to see the areas where some of my ancestors lived . Great job restoring this beautiful place it’s like Heaven on Earth , I could live there easily .
@@frankrobert4897 I’m doing ok considering . The weather here is as crazy as usual in New England , it’s like 90 today , tomorrow it’s supposed to be in the 60’s . Everyone is putting in the AC’s but tomorrow some will be putting the heat on . 😂
What a wonderful job you have done. It will look amazing when the oaks are full grown. I remember the story from one of the earlier videos tales with Kathy Hipperson. I would love to have a playground like this one.
I would love to have a "Reenactment Town" where people could come stay and live in the past. But I'm broke so we would have to recreate the Stone Age and live under trees.
I am from India and have always been obsessed with British history . Thanks for this post . You have corrected me via this posting : I used to think that it was Charles the First who hid in the Royal Oak before he was discovered and executed . I did not know it was his son Charles the Second . Thanks for letting me know .
Wait, I thought everybody in India hated Britain because of centuries of slavery and murder, and just wanted nothing but reparations. Is it possible the story is MORE nuanced than certain politicians have told me??
Been there in the mid nineties . Took part in a civil war reenactment group "the siege group " and met a really sweet english heritage guide. Beautiful place , good memories
Looks amazing. I hope it goes well! Imagine this... Mrs. Crocrombe: Today Lord and Lady Baybrook are going for a visit Boscobel and I'm packing a lunch for them and I was invited as well... now this isn't a place where peasants are welcome, so that is why I'm preparing something in advance for Marianne and the others while I'm gone... for this recipe you will need... 😳
So the story goes anyway!😂 The candles are really cool idea and all the planting of trees is wonderful! Bringing the place back to life and the way it used to look like and be farmed is absolutely my thing! Pity you're so far away!
Reminds me of the novel "Wickham's Second Attempt"...there is a mention of Pemberley hosting Charles the Second when the king is detained in Derbyshire. So interesting that this was similar to an actual historical event!
Oh wow! When international touristry resumes (which I dearly hope it soon will,) I would LOVE to visit Boscobel House. It looks very interesting and so beautiful. I’m particularly impressed with how tasteful the restorations and additions look - not tacky like many tourist attractions tend to be! Stay happy and healthy everyone 💛 Chaq x Brisbane, Australia.
I remember from a previous video they said the current tree isn't the original tree as the previous one had to be removed because it had diseased but they took a chunk of it and replanted this tree (something along those lines).
Wow . Is there a hotel nearby or something like it to stay with the family? For only a daytrip its a bit far from germany but looks like someting for the hollidays. You should have seen my sons face watching this .
If Charles had died at Boscabaol, it is unlikely that James, Duke of York would have been the subject of the restoration perhaps leading to one of Charles I'd daughters becoming Queen somewhat earlier, which might have short-circuited some interesting events.
I originally came to this channel for Mrc Crocombes cooking but I stay for these beautifully done historical representations
Same!
Same for me!:)
Gosh I really miss Mrs Crocombe. Meanwhile kudos to English Heritage for their efforts, wish I could travel to UK to visit this site and many others

Is this the house in Sherlock Holmes story?
No, you're thinking of The Boscombe Valley Mystery, which is located in Herefordshire in the story
@@Ravenesque thank you I was curious. I don't pretend to be a Holmes scholar. Just sounded similar.
You may also be thinking of "The Musgrave Ritual", which involves both an old tree and historical events around Charles the Second.
