Blue tapes used for painting jobs can be used in lieu of the C-clamp. Several pieces attached on the tope of the glass/window frame can support the weight of glass. A nice video!
I'll be doing this project tomorrow, thanks a ton for posting. I've found impala and Roadmaster previously, but it's great to see how the Fleetwood door comes apart ahead of time. I have the improved Dorman Nylon rollers so they shouldn't break again!
Thanks a lot for this video; it helped me fix two windows on my 1995 Fleetwood Brougham easily and without destroying anything! One thing I would like to add for others is how I was able to attach the arm (with the ball on the end) to the clips. I used your clamp method (I used a 3" clamp though) on the back door and it worked. I then needed to fix the front clip on the front driver's side door and noticed the access hole was smaller and did not allow a clamp to fit in at all. For this I discovered that channel-lock pliers have just the right angle for you to go in and squeeze together the arm and the bottom of the window, you just have to apply a reasonable amount of force squeezing with your hand. Thanks again - this video is much appreciated!
Thanks for your tip with the channel lock plyers, I have to do my front drivers door on 89 Fleetwood, I am concerned about breaking the glass, thinking about putting masking tape on the part of plyers that will be against the glass. Any suggestions? Thanks
Thank you for the video , this helped me fix my driver window. I was calling around auto stores for the clips and no luck. I finally got some from a junk yard. I didnt have a c clamp so I just popped it in by squeezing the roller and clip together. The first try it broke but the second one snapped together. Works just like new. 👍
Thank you so much for making this video, my window on my new Cadillac hearse started doing exactly that and this helped me SOOO much to know what to look for when I pulled the door apart! sure enough, there was that damn busted slider.. Thank You for taking the time to make this video!! xo
Wish i would of seen this sooner.i spend around 2hours trying to figure out how to pop it in .Ended up pinching one side with small vice grip and applying force on the onther side
Thank you for this video and your help, I put my new clips in with no problems, greased up my tracks and the 2" C-clamp worked great! No worries about breaking the window the ball went right in the clip using the clamp thanks again!
No problem I was a little worried about the C-Clam part because really in order to properly fix it the rivits that hold the track onto the window had to be removed and the glass had to be taken out. I thought that is way too much work for each window so I'm glad this worked for you but this is a risky job :)

Thank you so much for posting this video up! My '96 Fleetwood Brougham just started having an issue this evening... back driver side window is not going up or down. How would I know if it's the slider (as you have shown in this video) or the actual power window motor? Is there a way to know? When I push the switch up or down, I don't hear anything (no motor sound), but I do see a very slight dimming of the interior lights each time I push the switch. Thanks for your help!
Volo Photo, LLC To tell if you have a broken slider just close the door a little harder you will most likely hear a rattling sound. Another way to tell is by grabbing the window itself and gently rock it from side to side if it moves more on one side than the other then you'll know which part has the broken slider. As for the power window motor itself have you tried both switches master on drivers door and one on the door that's having the issue?
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase the plastic clips? I have been looking everywhere I can think of, with NO luck. I have two broken ones in my 1994 Fleetwood broughm.
You can buy the window Rollers instead of the Sliders like I used in the video the Rollers will pretty much last for the life of the car. The sliders I got from ebay
does anyone know of a video that shows how to fix a power window on a 1993 Cadillac DeVille? if so, give me a link to the video? I've been searching and searching online but can't find anything.
h3r0 0f t1m3 , Are you having the same issue with the window going off track (falling in the door?) If so it is generally the same set up but the door panel removal might be different
