    I love the story of the dam removal. It’s amazing it took this long but better late than never.

    I wish here in Puerto Rico people had that love to restore rivers and remove lots of old dam structures that impound sediments and prevent the mountain streams conectivity with the costal plains.

    I just watched the dam removal film, so it is good to see an update, but it would have been nice if you gave us more information like the first film.

    Dams are one of the biggest causes of beach loss. Sediment blockage causes huge amounts of damage that often isn't realized until decades later.

    For a story like this it would be better to show more before and after images side by side, areal photos, satellite imagery etc and less video of people talking. Let them talk over the images.

    1:18 Not to be pedantic, but the Elwha River actually originates on Olympic National Park lands, not Olympic National Forest lands.

      And it doesn't flow into the Salish nor the Pacific Ocean but the Straits of Jaun de Fuca, but who cares about facts anymore.

    To bad I won't live long enough to see the Juniata (a tributary of the Susquehanna) return to what it once was for Atlantic Salmond, American Shad, eel, etc. The way my grandfather and great grandfather knew it to be. It seems better to spend untold amounts of time, money and effort trying to discover the secret to saving the Chesapeake Bay. I wonder how long we will deny this ecosystem the life it knew for so long, until we "fixed it".

      oh shoot I forgot, no one in Port Angeles has power anymore! Jokes aside though, dam removal paths the way for innovative and renewable ways of generating electricity. We are human, and lazy. We need a kick in the rear to start heading the right direction. Dams only account for a fraction of the power generation in most areas with them anyway.

    The city should be charged for building such an awful dam

      It was actually a Canadian entrepreneur who saw an opportunity for power generation and got backing from firms out east to build the dam. Port Angeles of course accepted the proposal.

    Crazy how much money we spend, how many people we must hire to fix the problems we create. We are over populated lazy people

      @@rasputinspickledpeepee1976 Oh dang I'm so glad I found a like minded individual! We all know climate change is hoax made up by the Chinese government to stall the United States economic production. I have PROOF! The images I have uncovered proves the brainwashing of our nation's leaders from Chinese sleeper agents AND from the aliens that control them. You and me brother! Yea haaa!!

    I liked your story until you injected "climate change" into the narrative.

    • @Reed411
      @Reed411 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why? Healthy rivers are crucial in combating the effects of climate change, especially in areas at risk of aridification due to a warming climate. Let me guess, IT'S ALL FAKE NEWS and Biden stole the election!
