  • Welcome back guys!! Here's my walk around interior/exterior review video of the 2025 Subaru Forester Base, Premium, and Sport trim level!
They’re still rocking a 2.5 boxer with symmetrical AWD and of course a CVT. No manual or turbo currently offered but a Hybrid should be coming out in about a year as well as the 2025 Forester Wilderness soon!! I'll also have full reviews of the Base, Premium, Limited, and Touring soon! And POV driving reviews of each!!

My 2016 base trim cost just about $10,000 less than the 2025 base trim. It was $21,600, and last year, I traded it in and got $15,000 for it. Because of its size, it is considerably more capable off- road than my Outback. The Twin Falls people do a good job of representing the Subaru family.

I’m glad you got such a sweet deal on trade in! I’ve always heard Subarus keep their value fairly well, but some of my friends who have one in various towns/states who have then tried to trade theirs in have not been offered an offer they could let it go at. So I’m really glad to hear that it worked out so well for you! Yeah, this was basically another example of them having these models back to back at the lot and it being to easy to not just quickly film this comparison haha. 🤪

I’m glad I got my 2024 Forster Sport a few months ago, with the dealer discount it was a little under 32k, that’s with the power liftgate and HK stereo. I might have the questionable TCV but I have a warranty to cover that and from the looks of your video walk around of the 25 Sport, I saved about $6-7k.

That’s awesome, it definitely sounds like you got a great deal! And I wouldn’t personally worry about the TCV. Few people have had it happen and if it happens it’s covered!

I assume the TCV on the '24 to be the updated TCV, which might hold-up OK. So far, I hear of less failures. The '25 appears to use the old school thermostat.

You’re probably right but I’m not overly up to date on it since I haven’t personally owned a 5th gen to be more invested into the situation. But I’ve also not heard much about it on the forums, so that’s good!

The swan bird, I think it's a hummingbird. I'm interested in the new Forester Premium with option packages. I wish they would keep the regular sized sunroof and give you blindspot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert as standard.
    Good review comparison.

Thanks for the correction. I think I’ve called it something different in every video I think haha. 🤷‍♂️ Great insight and I agree, it makes more sense for the safety to be standard and the sun roof to be an optional item. Thanks for watching and sharing a great opinion!

I feel like you missed out on getting the dual x mode with the Forester Sport over the premium. That could really work the test of time

Does the Forester offer better outward visibility than the Outback? I test drove an OBW, which drives great, despite feeling a little claustrophobic due to the smaller windows and less boxy shape. I loved the turbo engine though. I wished it was available on both models!

Yeah, the Foresters visibility is amazing. I need to get ours tinted, it lets to much light in depending on the suns location.

I think the dual 7" setup is basically the same thing as the 11.6" screen except it has the strip of plastic going across it. Regardless, I think the new infotainment head units are a mistake. I think they've been a mistake since 2020, and they're keeping me from buying one of these cars. It's very frustrating in terms of concept and dimensions I like Subarus a lot. Ideally, I should have bought an Outback, in about 2018, right before EyeSight became standard. But that time's over. I don't really like the direction that automotive technology has been going in industry-wide. I wish I understood more about it. I think a lot of the development happens as a reaction to regulatory requirements. I guess that opens up a wide conversation about the government's role in automotive safety and economy that is better explored in another forum. But it sure does feel like the consumer is being shoved pretty hard these days. And I think a lot of that's been happening since the recession. Anyway, I think other car makers are more successfully reacting to the environment we're in. I don't know. I just don't want to be able to buy something that's new and cheap and that doesn't have a lot of invasive tech, and that I don't feel like I'm fighting while I drive it. That's a big part of my complaints about today's cars. They give you too much to worry about. I just want to drive, have decent power, listen to some tunes, and control the car more than it controls me and tells me to stop for coffee.

Great insight! Cars definitely have changed a lot, especially in the last 10 years. 🤪

Looks like TF Subaru had a run on Alpine Green Crosstreks. Didn’t see any behind those Foresters.

I’m not sure about that but I had noticed a lot of Crosstrek Wilderness’s the last time I was there!

I just received my 2025 Forester Sport. Beautiful headlight assembly BUT the shiny looking LED top bar is not the daytime running lights!!! Only the headlights turn on as daytime lights. Too bad, I think it takes away from a very nice new vehicle or should I say it cheapens it slightly. And talking about dislikes, Exhaust Pipe !! I totally hate the one chrome tipped exhaust and it’s smaller than the opening and then way back from the bumper exit point. The Crosstrek and Outback look so much better with NO visible exhaust tips.

@@stuartwhite8109 no, they just haven’t switched the body style for wilderness models so you can still get the old model if you get a wilderness trim

You know, they're kind of giving you less car for more money. It's basically the same thing as the last generation but it looks a little different. Except you can't get a CD player, you can't get fog lights, they don't seem to offer remote start on the fob anymore, there's no wilderness trim. I don't know, man. I think this company is on the decline.
