If the opponent don't have Pudding(blue) you can take as much as you want as long as you have a read that you can survive all of the attacks next turn. You need low life to utilize cards such as Raigo, 10c Ace, 9c Yamato. Also sometimes It's a good bluff to make your opponent think you have no/low counters.

Why take so many hits to life you have counter that was very confusing
Watching to the end it very reckless match for the kid player having one drop using your entire hand to counter out felt like a bm and troll to to me
