I’m so curious as to why there are dislikes for this worship session. The Word of God never changes. Once you see a worship session centered around the Word, the Holy Spirit will be present. This session is still changing my life everyday and week I zone in. We need to encourage and empower our brothers and sisters in Christ.
I love this song too. Some people don’t like this song for whatever reason, however I would think it’s toxic if they don’t like it for the message. What’s important for Sam Rivera as an artist is that he improves as an artist. He’s definitely a hidden talent who could grow and bless others with his music. Loved the nostalgic feel of the instruments and how 80s it felt. The message is equally as great, doing a leap of faith and letting go of fears and ignoring discomforting thoughts.

I am not usually one to listen to Christian music but I LOVE THIS SONG. I love the way it sounds! And I admire Sam Rivera's talent. This song captures that perfect blend of humility and urgency that every human being who ever made a mistake can identify with. He tells us "gotta let go," that he has to stop trying to control everything and give it to God. By confiding in us, his listeners, he is inviting us to take on a similar policy in our own lives. So wise for his years.
I like this song because it is honest in its emotional expression. The closer you grow in your relationship with God the more personal and intimate the style of the prayers become. You can see examples of this in the psalms. When I read the lyrics I saw a heart that was humbled by God desiring repentance and recognizing that we cannot do anything in our own strength. It is honoring to God to reference in this song the scripture that we cannot serve two masters. Whatever idol is taking over the space and the time that we should be focusing on God should be let go. Seeking fufilment in anything else is folly as the song refers. In this text you recognize both your humanness and recognize God's divinity. You note the consequences of not having His prescence in your life. You see clearly the desperate need that we all have for God and you actively decide to choose God. Thank you for another sincere song of praise and worship. Stay encouraged to keep walking the path that God has laid onto your heart! 😊
