I owned a 1969 Fleetwood brougham in my youth...it was two toned white and burnt orange with white and black interior.....white leather tuxedo buttons rear seat..power driver's seat Auto dimmers head lights..the engine was so quiet that when the hood was opened u would have to look for the belt moving to see that it was running...a pump was killed in it prior to my owning it..best car I ever has owned.....

I miss the days of colored interior, esp dark Blue leather, or red, or white. and the rich colors of cars. Today everything is 4 shades of Grey or Black or White..

Once that noisy valve lifter gets fixed and the vinyl top is redone and roof rust repaired, this is a car to be driven and enjoyed.

That is a leaking exhaust manifold, not lifter noise. It's SO common it effected about 99% eventually. I forget which one, but it's one side that always goes bad.

    Spectacular 😎👍
Mom n Dad’s 1969 Coupe DeVille, was that exact color, although with white leather.
This body style really hasn’t drawn the attention of earlier models but the build and ride quality is superb.

History? Was this a dealer package? A factory model? A Mexican model?

Dealer installed. George Barris created 13 Eldorados with this treatment and those original 13 toured Cadillac dealerships around the country in the late 60's to show folks how they could spice up a new Cadillac to stand out - apparently Mr. Barris received a cut on each package that dealers sold across the country. Here is a brief history of the company, Wisco: www.coachbuilt.com/bui/w/wisco/wisco.htm. This el clasico package is most commonly seen on Eldorados and even a couple Coupe DeVilles, but we've never seen one done on a Fleetwood Brougham. Certainly an acquired taste, and certainly makes this one stand out from the rest.

I had a 1970 Fleetwood Brougham (Same as the '69 except for slight differences of the grille and taillights). These were SUPPOSED to be subtle, dignified luxury cars. Whatever custom shop that did the "El Clasico" work probably did a lot more Lincoln Mark IIIs or even El Dorados and Coupe DeVillles. (Note: the custom work is all on the exterior, the interior is bone stock- It's exactly what my interior looked like.). I would have yanked all of the "pimp" crap off if I had bought this used in the '70s or '80s. But "Pimped" '69-'70 Fleetwoods (or even Sedan DeVilles) are rare, so I guess today I'd leave it on. 🤷‍♂️

nothing special there! a moon roof, and a quarter vinyl pimp top, what a better way to ruin a Fleetwood brougham! that's just me....

@robert cushman I think it was an aftermarket conversion done after leaving the factory. Believe it or not, I've seen Cadillac data books from that era and you'd be surprised at the customizable options available (on special order, of course)!
