I don't think it's fair to suggest games like these are queerbaiting you when they're predominantly Chinese and face a lot of censorship struggles when wanting to depict queer romance. Hell, MiHoYo made 1 lesbian couple many years ago, had them confess and kiss and everything, and then new censorship laws were passed, and they had to retract all their efforts and remove/reword anything about it lest they face trouble. But even then, any versions of those characters in any of their games will always be super close and they will do everything they can to hammer home that those women are in love even if they can't say it anymore. These days Chinese games can't have gay couples that acknowledge their relationship in any way and have to constantly use code words like 'roommates' and 'friends' to allude to their relationship(Like Alhaitham and Kaveh in Genshin, and the constant need to remind everyone they're roommates when we got it the first time.). There IS queerbaiting in gaming, but it feels disingenuous to insist that THAT is the natural intention from games that are made in countries with next to no queer rights and strict control over queer content.
Definitely true! Would love to see some progress made in terms of censorship in China especially regarding queer relationships. In hindsight I probably wouldnt label it queerbaiting but it def is disappointing. Trust me I would LOVE to romance some of the characters in ZZZ haha.
The perk to upgrading entire outfits is that you can basically use one entire outfit to win a styling battle so then you actually match and your character looks cool as you win. There are ways to get the bubbles you need for upgrading so it’s not too onerous. Sometimes you will have to add some weird accessories or a strange jacket but for the most part I don’t need to.
Agreed I was so sick of wearing the same ugly vest to win my styling challenges please 😭 I feel like the game runs SUPER well on my PS5, it’s so gorgeous but it is very janky on my pc and mobile. I am still loving my time with it 🥰
whenever they put out surveys i always fill them out with every thought and issue i have. there was one recently where they asked about outfits and makeup and i submitted that we were lacking in skintones
I don't know if it's just me or if others share the same thought, but I don't think Infinity Nikki is a gacha game. We literally get every single piece in the banner (Limited/Permanent) and never get duplicates before completing the set. So, I feel it's more like buying things than gambling or gacha... it doesn't have 50/50 chance or something like that, you literally got what you choose or want...
It is still a gacha game since you still have the random element by getting the outfits. By that it is quiet lenient as a gacha game. It is better to soothe the players with systems that feel as if they were fair to the player (like the part that you can play most of the game without even paying a single dime). You can feel the developers went for long time engagement with the player and not as quick money grap. In the long run they make far more money this way in the long run.
I’ve given up on a cohesive outfit for style challenges since Hello Nikki 😿 Having played prev Nikki and Genshin Impact is a good way to get ahead. I also usually spend a little for monthly cards and passes and the gacha so far is manageable. I hope it stays that way.

I agree about the styling challenges and ugly outfits being kinda tiring,, i REALLY hope we get a game mode where other players vote on the best outfits and how well they fig the theme (kinda like dress to impress 😭 but better) because right now the themes in these challenges don’t mean anything and instead of actually styling you just need to level up clothes
the previous mobile-only nikki games had the whole "make an outfit and other players vote on it" mechanic, so those of us who are longtime nikki fans are pretty sure we'll get something similar eventually, but who knows lol
I play on my PC and I use my mobile to grind and that is because I have to go to work and be an adult, last week I couldn't even touch my PC but grinded enough materials to make two Miracle outfits, I only needed to do the Sovereigns to be able to make the dress! I also play slow, but with this update I run a little to have all the chapters done and get the dress, now I returned to play slow, I prefer to take my time. I also hate half my battles with the factions appear as normal instead perfect, but I will re-do them again when my dresses get better. Meanwhile I will continue with the Random quests like I was doing them before I began to run to complete the main questline.
I'm glad they chose to make Momo nicer and less annoying. Paimon is 90% of the reason I stopped playing Genshin. Also my favorite outfit is the bug catcher outfit form the permanent banner!

I would say negative people are all over the spectrum and just getting a kick out of taking everyone else's enjoyment. Even I-Nikki isnt immune to that from all sides. As for PC problems I would assume its something else then GFX. I dont have streaming setup going on (except OBS), but tried running WuWa in background and Nikki played fine, and I old AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with RTX 2070 and 32gb ram. Regarding Nikki, I love this game. Gives me more pleasure to play then most of big hits trough the years even in pay games. But sadly finished main quest and most side quests so done till next update. Hopefully we get more story quests not just fishing and collectables. Just catching up with WuWa in mean time then back to backlog of games heh. When I first started I tought it was made from same people that made Life Makeover as the whole dress and scoring thing was very similar.
Your statement at 8:18 is not true. Upgrading 3* items is MUCH more resource efficient than 4* and 5* items, and fully upgraded 3* outfits are enough to get you Perfect even against the end game stylist challenges as of 1.1.
I played one of the older versions of this game (Love Nikki) I completed it, or at least what they had of it, it might've updated, it's been a few years. I loved it so much, (I spent my allowance on it every week, embarrassingly getting up to VIP 14. This was back during the early years of COVID-19) I remember hating the styling challenges with other people though, because everyone was just piling up whatever to get higher stats rather than actually making good outfits. With NPCs I could make good looking outfits and still win, but literally no one ever did it right in the PvP part.
pvp is solely focused on score, not looking pretty. The Starry Corridor and weekly fashion contest were the gameplays where looking good was important because players votes for the best.

It wasn't fun to make something good, and lose to a literal bikini with every possible accessory. That was my other gripe, the people who just put in bikini ones for themes that had nothing to do with it- Plus like, I wish they had made it so you had to earn a higher score to go against someone higher. It was just flat out cruel to put someone with a ranking score of 2000 against someone with literally over 50k, essentially made it never fun because there was always a disadvantage.

@@tinkersdinkers it's a reference to the tax system in the United States! once a year all working individuals (and some unemployed) need to file their taxes. our taxes take a certain amount of money from our income. when you have an employer they typically handle most of this for you and during tax season you basically confirm what your salary and taxes were the past year. but for the self employed like influencers, they have to report their income at tax season and pay all the taxes at once instead of broken through the year in individual paychecks. when they "write off" something in their taxes, they claim that a certain expense is part of their job, and that amount is removed from their "taxable" income. this means they technically made less money by writing off that expense, and will pay less money during tax season. hope that helped!☺️
