We were in Luckenbach, Texas a few days ago and heard this song being performed there. It was performed by three older gentlemen playing a spanish guitar, a fiddle and an accordian. It was by far one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. After their performance I asked those fellows for the name of this song and they told me that it's "Heaven's Gate Waltz" from the Heaven's Gate movie. Thank you for putting this song on here.
Thank you for posting; I "listen" to this film many times over just to hear the soundtrack and the end credits are as beautiful and thrilling as the roller skating scene!
David Mansfield is one of my musical heroes... incomparible! Also love his other soundtrack to another favorite of mine, "The Ballad of Little Jo." Bravo!
Halbie71, thank you SO SO much for uploading this! i was hoping someone would response to my post! this is truly a touching and heartfelt melody, i believe it carries a lot of emotions with it, it is personally my favorite theme in the movie; too bad its mostly used in the end credits, as i think it should have been the main theme for the movie. anyways, thanks again halbie! i'll now be listening to this song over and over without desperately trying to find the soundtrack! All the best!
