That takes me back to the late 70’s my Uncle had almost the exact same setup except he would pull harrows right behind the cultivator but I never asked him why and I wish now that I had because he lived where the soil was very sandy but anyway sure was nice to see some Blue Power burning heavy fuel again 😀🇨🇦

Thanks, we haven't had weather like that since it might be the last for this fall.

Ran a 9600 with a 14 shank MF chisel plow. She howled, but really tore up the ground. Single 20/38's, and I should have put some weight on the front. But it pulled it!

Love it, the 9600 is a beast of a tractor, thanks for sharing

Seems like those Fords grind when you put them in to gear.

Yep, I don't know of any that don't make a little noise.

Yeah, our Ford doesn't do it all of the time but probably close to 80% of the time.

that has a completely different way of shifting as well, there are some pretty big differences between the 4 & 6 cylinders. I could be wrong with this but the 700 series and newer there was some updates that made the shifting a bit quieter.

Good day just whant to find out how much horsepower does the turbo give extra on the ford 9600
I have a ford 9600 without a turbo and whant to buy a turbo for him
Will fuel efficiency be better with a turbo...?
Thanks i like your video s
    And all the old horses

Absolutely none as a 9600 has a factory turbo, there is more to turboing an 8000 - 8600 than just putting a turbo on. Plan on pulling and swapping connecting rods, and resetting piston heights as well. once the turbo is on you end up turning the injector pump up some as well., Note a turbo 401 will not last as long as a NA 401

So you say 8000 8600 series didn't came oute with a turbo but 9600 did..?

    • @farm2655

Yep thats the way they came.

Will a 8600 do the same job with that chisel plough

    • @farm2655

The 8600 can pull it but you have to have easier conditions to keep a decent pace that higher horse power of the 9600 makes a real difference when pulling tillage equipment

How many tines and how deep do you work
