    I love these burning videos and outdoor videos. Our wildlfe group here in NC is starting to do some yearly burns tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

    I am amazed by what I learn on your chanel. I would be afraid to do this even if I had an army of forestry fire fighters with me. I totally agree with why it's done and it leaves behind a healthier forest. That's amazing you do this by yourself. Great job!

    Miss prescribed burning. Burned a bunch when I worked with Georgia Forestry.

    Sometime in the far distant future might look at something like Woods Equipment's new single wing 'lightweight' 10 foot mower (3 inch vegetation diameter rating, 45 hp pto minimum), a wider mower (with one fold up side) can get through narrow gateways to fields and could mow briars and short pine regeneration on the side of the forest tracks.

    What sort of fire suppression system do you have in case of a hotspot or flareup?

  • @HokeeFi
    @HokeeFi 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Are you setting these fires to move with the wind, against the wind... or do you have enough trails around the sections to burn you don't let that dictate...you just let it burn and then catch it /put it out on the back side?

      I answered every one of those questions in the video.

    Kind of a strange question I suppose, but what is the goal for the timber? I see its been thinned already. I guess to simplify, will it be cut again when most of it can marketed as poles or logs?

    • @cotontop3
      @cotontop3  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct.

    We made a homemade drip torch using a spray rig tank, fuel pump and a drip torch tip from Forestry Suppliers. I think you would enjoy having one. It’s much easier than holding that torch out and driving.

    • @cotontop3
      @cotontop3  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would make it a lot more fun.

  • @stephenmeeks684
    @stephenmeeks684 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why not make an attachment to hold the torch out for you. You can make it tip over and trigger while you drive more carefully without catching briers.

    The deer and turkeys will be back in there soon as it cools down and they will tear it up scrounging around to eat the stuff that was underneath the over growth.
