I have not yet used Tim’s distress paints. I need to watch more of his videos/techniques for it because I also do decorative painting which is much different than what Tim does. So, to change gears with that medium, I “got some learning’ to do”! 🤣. Love the card Kathy. Simple, yet very pretty!
The paint is water reactive only when wet. Once it’s dry it’s a permanent finish. I love Tim’s paint. They’re so thin they work for so many different things.
@@annaszary8103 I think you’ll enjoy the paints. I’ve done stamping with them, with the older dabber top bottles. With that it was easy to dab the paint onto a stamp. You can still do that with a sponge, as well. Make sure to wash the stamp immediately though, don’t let the paint dry on. Backgrounds like Cathy made in this video are great with the paints. And I use them a lot for mixed media projects. Since the paint is so fluid it’s easy to get it to move into cracks & crevices with just a spritz of water on it. They’re also great for some splatter on a project. I’m sure as you play with them you’ll find what you enjoy with them. Have fun!
@@harriettezmalloy7182 Thanks for the suggestions! I have a brayer that i plan on using for stamps because i don’t have the sponge tops. I am excited to try them and love that they are permanent and therefore resist.
Thanks Cathy! I love your card and so excited to see the paints. I have to echo someone else's comment. I love watching your videos. Your voice is calming, your work inspires me to get with it and, most importantly, your humor makes me smile and adds sunshine to my day! Thanks again and can't wait to see what you do next.
i love your color scheme. I have a lot of these paints too but not the new colors, I stopped collected because I WASN'T using them. I need to start so I can justify getting these gorgeous new colors!!
So simple yet so gorgeous! I’m glad you are doing a new series. Seems like you’ve been doing mostly lives and I just don’t have the attention span for those. Thank you for this new series!
I love how excited you get about things. A perfect card with exception to the bloop when you were trying to score, but your secret is safe with me! I would have stacked the letters first and then put them into the negative piece they were cut from. I guess there are many ways to get things done
I think the paint is only reactive when wet and totally permanent when dry!! Amazing stuff. I’ve never used it before either but you make it look easy!! PS. It’s called rotational symmetry when you place your sequins like that 😁 if you turn your card 180 they’ll be in the same position!
Great card Kathy! Yes - you were right about getting your brush wet before painting. It just needs to be damp if you are using water media. Getting the brush wet allows for the media to cling to the brush and makes it much easy to clean...your brush will last longer because the bristles are payable...not brittle. :)
Gorgeous card. Love the colour combo, delish! I think I recall Tim saying the paint is water reactive while wet, but once dry, is water proof. How cool is that?! Love your boop bowl! Lisa is a sweetheart and her This Calls For Confetti range is gorgeous. Loved the reflected symmetry! xoxo
As others have mentioned, paints are reactive when wet, but permanent when dry. Great for when you want to add other layers on top and not move what you have already done. Love your card, Cathy.
Gm gorgeous! I set my alarm today to try to catch this live! I love playing with paint although haven’t had a chance to do it often. And it seems to me if you look at a quick overview of your cards, you have been climbing out of your “box” a lot lately and doing more new things. So kudos to you! Hope you read my long email. Sorry about that. I just wanted to put your mind at ease about that whole thing. See you soon I hope!
There is a fluid or flow medium that you can add to paints instead of water and it thins paint out without Losing the opacity. Amazon sells it. Liquitex
Wow! Your paint strokes are the coolest. Way to go there! I love that you're well known in the sequin industry! The sequin tray is the best! Thanks for the share. Look forward to your next card sesh 👉
Nice to see you trying new products. I don’t use new products very often either. Would you consider using Gelatos? (I won a small set of these but haven’t used them)
I LOVE THIS! I love you ! (Too much??😂). I was looking for something like this & bought the distress grit by mistake. It was the paint I was actually after & I’m a complete beginner to both card making & use of distress paints or oxides. It’s my way to just experiment like you do so it’s good to see someone who is so creative do this for me (I’m very new to these creative arts). Thank you . ❤ from Brisbane.
Love this card, and seeing you trying new products. This inspires me to try new products. 😉. Would you consider a video using Gelatos? (I won a small set of Faber Castell Gelatos and don’t know what to do with them)

“let’s some people down, and relieves others”. lol - you are too funny!! 🤣.
The paint is water reactive only when wet. Once it’s dry it’s a permanent finish. I love Tim’s paint. They’re so thin they work for so many different things.
Would love to know what you use it for. I just started getting the colors i love the most

I will have to pull out my Tim Holtz paint!
The Boop! Love the little dish. Boopfastic.
I love how excited you get about things. A perfect card with exception to the bloop when you were trying to score, but your secret is safe with me! I would have stacked the letters first and then put them into the negative piece they were cut from. I guess there are many ways to get things done
So impressed. I have some distress and Dina Wakely paints I’ve been waiting to use.

I know! DOH! I totally misspoke. But there you go… I didn't go to design school hahaha!
@@czdesign I’m just your run of the mill maths teacher! No design school here either 😂😂
Haha! The math teacher in me caught that too!!
I like reflected symmetry much better. 🤷🏻♀️🤣🤣🤣

I've never used my paints either but you've inspired me to try them as soon as I finish the cards that I'm working on.

Nice to see you trying new products. I don’t use new products very often either.

Kathy, I found if you burnish the microdots on the backside it stick a lot better.
