    Plano Fishing Atlas Tackle Backpack Review | Bass Tackle Organization
    In this video I review the Plano Atlas Fishing Backpack. This bag has some pretty cool features. One of them is the drop zone magnet system on top to hold anything metal. I set this bag up as a bass fishing pond bag. I also used the Plano flex 3600 size tackle boxes. I included my edge boxes and what I put in them in the video. The Plano Atlas will hold just about any tackle box you want to drop in it. You can also customize how you want to set it up with whatever fits your style of fishing. The EVA foam makes it water friendly as well. The bottom of this bag is protected and is also water proof if you need to set it down. It has plenty of storage pockets around the bag for soft plastics and also a rod and plier holder built in. I like the clam shell style molded pockets, it feels really solid and keeps your tackle protected.

    I am a little late to this video, but thank you for the great walkthrough. This covered everything I needed to know before making a purchase, no more, no less. Just pulled the trigger on the atlas’s and a handful of 3600 and 3500 flex boxes. Can’t wait to get organized for this season.

      Thanks for letting me know you picked one up! That's why I do these type of videos. Winter time I do the same tackle organization makes things easier as long as you can motivate yourself to do it lol.

    I prefer the 3600 boxes too! It is def a cool pack! I bought the Flambeau portage series back pack. I love the overall features in it. The bag itself is pretty stiff too with a hard bottom, but still slightly collapses when you pull out all your boxes unlike yours. I'm torn though because i prefer tackle bags that stack your boxes horizontally not vertically. Because i do load soft plastics and bucktail jigs into my boxes sometimes and they bend over time inside the boxes when stacked vertically. Although i do like the way your edge boxes fit in width wise. Cause that leaves you room in your pack for a large spinnerbait box and or rain jacket and maybe a lunch box. A line spool station would have been nice to see or maybe a water bottle pocket on the outside. I guess you could maybe use the rod holders to hold a water bottle?.. I also wish the side pockets were as large as the front pocket. The magnet drop zone is def a nice touch! I also really like the fact the shoulder staps came with load lifting straps on top! Alot of companies overlook that feature. When walking up hills you pull those straps tight and it cinches the pack closer to your back and shoulders so a heavy pack doesn't sag on your back. The EVA foam pack in general is genius! I hope to see more tackle bags like it ("Horizontally" oriented version please...Lol). Hope this bag serves you well man! Fish on!

      Thanks very detailed, I am just as picky. I also feel the same about how the boxes lay in the bag. I feel like a lot of the times your baits gets all discombobulated depending on how the bag holds them. Which can be very frustrating because of the time it takes to get organized. I feel like with the plano 3600 though everything is so compact and tight that it shouldn't be an issue. Plus you have the options to store them either way, horizontally or vertically. Just keep in mine to access them you have to go through the top of the bag. Also if you stack the boxes horizontally you would have to take some out depending what box you may need, thats why I put mine the way I did, with the labels facing up. The 3700's fit good too, your just limited to the vertical storage with them. I do a lot of hiking while I fish, so I am in the same boat. I enjoy trying new fishing tackle especially innovative ones. Im looking forward to putting some steps on the ground with this bag. Best of luck out on the water!!!

      Awesome, thanks for letting me know! Its such a hassle sometimes organizing tackle lol. Once I get it done though, I feel so much better. Having more options with a system like this motivates me to do it lol. We can only throw so many baits in one day.

    I'm super picky about this stuff too. Question: where on earth do you put your water bottle in a bag like this?

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could drop it in the big compartment, or maybe some kind of external holder that clips onto the bag. It doesn't look like they made a dedicated water bottle holder.

    Any idea how many 3600 boxes it will hold if you stood them and turned them sideways so the lids are facing towards the side pockets? I need a bag that holds 5 boxes comfortably.

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be fine with 5 3600's.

  • @faithwheeler4724

    I just got one from Cabela's but it was only 90$ is there another Plano bag that looks the same? Or did I get mine on a mistake and I'm picky about bags and this one is by far my favorite
    Edit: I did 3 3600 boxes stacked up and 2 3200 boxes on top so a total of 5 but I'm a tackle Jackle

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This bag just came out, but Plano has some other fishing bags. Awesome about the 3600's, I like them as well. Whatever you are comfortable with is all that matters.

    How well. Would. This. Work for ice fishing I couldn't justify. Spending that much for a. Fishing. Back pack

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plano just came out with the smaller Edge boxes, i'm pretty sure they are for ice fishing. You might want to check them out. I don't really ice fish, but you can use this bag for just about any type of fishing. You could set it down on the ice for sure with the way they made the bottom of the bag.

    As a new fisherman, can someone explain the term terminal pond?

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Terminal Tackle for pond fishing. Fresh water fishing for largemouth bass. Terminal Tackle means hooks, weights, things like that.

    what a silly design, needs a pocket down low so you dont have to take everything out to get to the planos

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the access idea, however it depends on how you stack your boxes. The 3600's will fit in to where you don't need to take anything out to access a specific box.

  • @celsomanny

    I would never spend that amount of money on a good fishing pack. I'd even be embarrassed telling anyone I spent that amount. There are very good alternatives for less than half of that amount
