Not exactly your typical DIY, this dude is a pro
It counts since I taught all the skills to myself. But thank you
@@MrBuildit impressive work
In reality it's not out of the scope of the average diy type of person.
The welding part yes.
Sorry good but not a pro !! Your not allowed to have horizontal railings and is a Huge code violation
At first i was like okay this seems do able, then the guy frickin welds his stairs together... like nope I'm out
But seriously amazing job
So true. When he got the wending stuff out, I too thought its out of my league. Might as well hire someone.
yeahh.....thats when i ejected too. sayonara!
😂
So he says he put down a welders blanket to protect the stairs, then we see molten material bouncing all over them and no blanket. I guess the brown and black marks complimented the angled grooves in the MDF.
If you can do the stairs yourself, you can always order the railings from the web.
that looks so good, the change to have minimalist railings instead of those white wall rails helped opened up the front door space...cause it previously seemed very cluttered and old. The simple details for the stairs is brilliant! thought it was tiles at the beginning.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection th-cam.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
I'm watching this but I don't even have stairs in my home...
I don't even have a home; still renting
😂😂😂😂one day you will
Haha same I have a steps front house lol.
Same lol
Well atleast now you know how to do it yourself 😁
Me: Honey I built you a new chair.
Him: Honey I built you a new house.
Honey look at my legos!
Look honey I changed the remote control batteries!
Why am I watching this? I don't even have stairs.
CALife hahahahaha 😂 day made!
CALife 😂😂😂😂 me either
Coz it's satisfying and yes the dopamine
😂😂😂 you made my night me too
You should get so bro, then you can go upstairs!
i hope he knows we aren't about to do this
Funny 😆 I thought the same.
Fucking ded😂💀💀💀
I would get to much testosterone and have to stop for sex
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love how it opens up the space.
I love how you immediately got right into the project and not BS for 15+ minutes! 👍 BTW, nice work! 🙌
Wow love how this project turned out. The staircase looks amazing. Changing fixtures can make a huge difference
Thanks so much
@@MrBuildit You're welcome so much excited to see y'all next project
@@MrBuildit Love this project! How did you do the covers of the tops of the stairs?
I need to find a man who knows how to fix things.
same, girl, same... my last man didn't even know how to drive a car smh
Handy Mandy
Nini Mf my man’s in the navy and when I called him about using a drill while building an ikea dresser; he had no idea what to do or say lmao. Love him dearly and wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world but that was a funny one. Ended up using elbow grease like the strong woman I am 😉💪
be a man who knows how to fix things
This is just more than fix things.
This wasn't DIY. This was DIYP = do it yourself professionally. 🙄

Sidra Siddiqui It’s a DIP
@@xSunnyDaysx ya sure
Sidra Siddiqui Just felt like saying the word dip *southern accent*
looks great!!
Thanks Tiki
Bro that came out awesome ..plus your wife also helps you !! Treat her like gold
She’s amazing
@@MrBuildit (sigh….
WOW !!!!! Fabulous
Thank you
LOVE your AMERICAN flag 🇺🇸
The stair remodel = AWESOME 👊
I respect this dude because he kept grinding even with all the negative comments from the pros. Look at his recent vids. He has taught himself and has mastered the trade on his own. The guy can build a house. Over half a million people learning from him now. Like me, I look back on some of projects and laugh. I’m sure he does too. But this his how you learn. Great vid 👍🏽
8:56 second board from the top you forgot a line, haha.
I really hope you replaced that right after seeing it.
Damn good eye Tim. Lol
I don't think he did, its permanently there @9:04 but he can always sharpie it
I know, I saw it when he was spraying them and was really hoping he would catch it. 😂
Draw a line and chisel it out?
Aaargh. Can't unsee it now
Looks so modern
Good taste in design. Love how it came out!
Absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Thanks for watching
no drop sheets used while demolishing, sanding, spray panting or welding 😳 my OCD could never 😂
I was wonder why he just didnt saw it from the beginning if he knew it was just a hollow frame lmao less clean up.
I was literally breaking out in hives watching the demolition, paint overspray and welding on uncovered finished floor and steps. I need a shot of whiskey after that.
Check out 8:56 and look at the panel second from the top... how does your OCD feel about that? XD
Holy balls - me too.
Kylethebat that's not ocd
Awesome job
Thanks
Outstanding transformation, great job. 👍
Wow, when I first saw this I thought the backing of the stairs was made from cut tiles. Turns out you cut the wood, and painted it. It looks brilliant! On top of welding your own handrails! Wow!
Great job! Love modern and minimalist architecture! 👌
😮 sprayed the entire house
While I’m at it.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Thank you
Great idea and finish.
Thank you each step and wow I learned a a lot. Pretty cool you have all the tools. Looks absolutely beautiful!! Such a huge improvement! Well done
Thanks so much. Really glad you found it useful

Mr. Build it. You have every tool known to man! This is not a DIY!! Lol. This is PROFESSIONAL!!! I thought I was going to be able to ty something, but it’s great watching you I guess!!
My goal is to help home owners do it themselves. I have never been in the trades. All self taught and I feel anybody can teach themselves
That’s the reason I watch these videos. I’m willing to learn for myself, I just have to get my tool game up!!! Lol
This looks amazing definitely not a beginner's project. We'd have to hire out for those railings. Awesome job though!
For sure. Welding is a specialty.
Amazing work. Great step by step process. People don’t realize that they don’t have to do the exact same railing as you did with a welder but everything else is really the hardest and most time consuming part of remodeling the stairs. You can also get a similar look (but not exact) with wood for the railing.
This got serious when I saw him welding. Welp, time to get my hot glue gun lol.
I'm trying to find that laminate treds with noising is kind a covers, where can I find it?? Lowe's , home Depot or any other stores??
Francisco Contreras Home Depot has “cap A treads” on their website
Francisco Contreras I’m not sure Francisco I’m sorry lol.
Hahahahahaha
I once made Crème Brûlée for Christmas at my parents but had forgotten to bring my little torch. My father brought up his welding equipment (you know the two-giant-bottles acetylene torch), showed me what the flame has to look like when you regulate the flow, and I did the 19 dishes of Crème Brûlée. That was my first "welding" experience. 😁
thank you for sharing, very helpful, very nice job in the end!
Love the staircase make over - it came out really nice! I wish I had the skills to do this. Great craftsmanship! 👍❤
There are skilled craftsman that don't know how to do stairs or stained glass. This guy know how to build and has style. You don't have to be special needs to do something DIY. I love it
This is NEXT LEVEL “DIY” 😩
Wow!! I have watched lots of self-trained people doing their crafts, some really bad, but I have never ever seen somebody arc weld in a nice home! What a great wife she must be so placid!!!
Amazing how much more room it perceivable creates. And looks really classy
Thank you
Beautiful! It opens the house so much more.
Thank you
0:32 So I guess next project would be new floor?
oversprayed the absolute shit out of it 10 mins later too
I love the look!
A man who works with his hands is so attractive. When my husband fixes or builds something he is usually a happy man later.
One of the best DIY videos on TH-cam.
Great video. Can't wait to bring my paint sprayer into my living room and get to painting everything!
So easy . Thank you for the class. Bought all the tools you are demonstrating, I sliced my hand off. I picked it up from the floor and I used the wood glue I got from Home Depot.
6:48 I suggest you do not spray white paint 10 feet from an open living room with a couch and rug haha
You never know how far that mist will float
Neil M the overspray had me shook, but yeh that’s the only thing. Everything looks great.
yeah, it even looked like it was getting on the floors :/
Omg that’s killing me. I’ve painted for almost 10 years now. He had to of gotten white specs on everything. It all looks amazing but damn.
I was thinking the same thing. Because i learned this the hard way when i thought i had covered enough things in plastic when putting black enamel on an appliance. Only to find out my white counter tops looked grey after i finished my project
I bet her wife was happy after seeing this footage :D
Stunning
Brother that turned out great. Awesome transformation for sure !!!
Thank you
He is a professional carpenter who does his own work at his own home. He is not your ordinary DIY.
i live in an apartment...idk why i'm even watching this!
this dude has some serious skills and tools!
Thanks
VTF
Spray paint in the living room???????????
His workshop
😂 welding in his living room even worse
I love, love, love the new stairs very open I just love it
Thank you
Welded it up in the house that’s badass 😂
im in the middle of trying to find home and your videos ALWAYS get me super excited for the DIYs that im going to be doing!
Spray paints walls and floor and stairs and even the grass, rips apart stairs onto the laminate floor and when that isnt enough weld sparks all over it.My wife would have had a heart attack.
this welding probably damaged the stairs
Sucks for you bro.
Yeah, definitely some potential oops moments. Looks fucking great in the end though!

Mr. Build it be like *"DIY building my own dream home from scratch"*
Cool 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you.
Freaking amazing! I wouldn’t even attempt this but def enjoyed watching!
Mr Buid it, it is a great tutorial video.
Why am I watching this I don’t even own a house
More education a wonderful trade for a young person you're putting yourself ahead watching this
Hahahah I own a house but without a Stair
It helps to dream buying a house so law of attraction and universe will give it to you! Dream big! 🙏😁👍
Very nice, big difference. 🙏🏻👍🏻
Love the video! LOVE your wife, she’s hilarious 😂🤣😂
Gorgeous
Wow, I thought that the risers were tiled! That's so much smarter to use a router on MDF. I'll have to remember that.
so simple and works so great
Looks great 👍👍👍
Great job! This looks fantastic! love the metal work.
dude, this project is awesome!!!
Why am I watching this? I have a hammer, level and a few screw drivers. This guy has a friggin welder!
Really like the look
HOLY OVERSPRAY
Yeah. Rookie mistake
@@MrBuildit hey at least you were in your own house and not on the job for someone else. Stairs look good btw nice work
I’ve used that rustoleum paint before on an old Jeep and it’s incredible stuff. Definitely works
Bob The Builder: Can we fix it ?!!!!
Mr. Build It: Hold my beer
love the "high density" medium density board...lol. love the finished product. nice job
As a home owner I’m just thinking about the value $$ he’s adding to his 🏡
These are grown up things for sure
Pretty slick renovation. Glad I’m not the only one welding railings inside the house for a modern feel!
All of Canada and most US building codes don't allow for railing balusters to run horizontally. Make sure you don't get caught in a inspection otherwise you'll have to rip them out!
@@JayGreyhood not about strength unfortunately. They're considered "climbable". Kids were getting hurt and dying because they would fall off a flight of stairs. Most building inspectors in Canada wont certify the building for occupancy before these are changed.
You could, like you said, put glass over so that they can't be climbed. Just take the glass off after the inspection (;
Inspection only counts in new construction. Nobody is inspecting in existing housing
@@MrBuilditAll "major" renovations require a permit and a follow up inspection...
Major often meaning modifying walls, stairs, or electrical/plumbing.
We had a small wall moved, neighbor called in, and went through inspection hell afterwards.
Most the time you can get away with it, like you said...
Just noting for other viewers (:
@@Tyman9819 Yeah this guy doesn't have kids yet. Kids will definitely climb that when you're not looking and fall off. 2-3 year olds are suicidal. Lol!
That’s easily fixable.
Just put a glass panel
Those stairs came out looking amazing👍
I actually recommend you go with drywall screws. Nails give over time, especially where shifting can occur, and are liable to pop thru.
Your videos are amazing. As a European I am however constantly amazed by how every american house I see in general on this type of channels is just made of wood...
Spray paint, weld metal, .... in the living room ... It´s a nice Staircase, but ... u know whot i mean.
Hahah. On the spot building
You’d be amazed how many professional contractors do the same.
Mr. Build It if they worked for me doing that I would fire them lol. How long did it take to clean the over spray off your floor? Lol
DUDE!!!!!!!! So much went into this project!!!!!!
This is good! May i request the list of materials used here?i wanna have a try of this.
Great work I love the metal
Your wife must be a saint. If I tried to weld inside our house I believe my wife would bury my body in the back corner of our property!
10/10 appreciate how fast you talked throughout.
"That's on her" lol
I was thinking ... I need a New stairs... but the true I need a New man hahaha this man😄
Sometimes that’s an easier solution
😁👌
This looks amazing! You have inspired me! Where did you get the metal for the railing from?
Thank you. My local steel shop
Outstanding upgrade. Nice that you are able to do the wielding yourself!
Hey thanks. Learned it on TH-cam
Can you tell me how the hell you can spay inside without any protections and still having unpainted floor ?
david paquette prob gotta get up close and personal to see it.
david paquette fine spray like that will typically be dry before it hits the ground. You can just sweep it up like dust. Still wouldn’t recommend it but 99% of the time it’ll be alright.
GREAT JOB .
“Tip: figure it out” 🤪
Thank goodness I am way too old to start such a project. At 76 I probably have around 15 or 20 years left. At my skill level this would take me 30 years.
Thanks for the video, it was indeed very interesting to watch.
Is your floor LV, do you mind sharing the brand? Thanks
It’s from Home Depot. It’s called cap-a-tread
@@MrBuildit How about the floor in the rest of your house. Thanks
@@MrBuildit I looked those up on Home Depot, $50 US per tread is ridiculous
Suaminya serba bisa.. Klo kita mah pastinya manggil tukang..👍👍👍
