Some recreational drugs can be horrible; but that also goes for some medical ones. You gotta know what's the right stuff and how much is safe if at all.
And criminalizing them makes it harder for people who have issues to get help. Some "weed" is also specially grown to not make you high and it can help people with pain and one of the chemicals in weed called CBD is actually antipsychotic. I know a dude who is able to hold down a job and function normally even though he has schizophrenia because of CBD. THC is not antipsychotic though. It does the exact opposite and makes psychosis worse and more frequent for people who already have schizophrenia. So don't think that the weed that makes you high is safe if you have mental problems.
All the antihistamines in japan are low dose. If you look at the ingredients, you can find local brands for everything. In the States Diphenhydramine uses brand names like Benadryl. Bufferin is Aspirin in Japan. Eve, and Ringl are ibuprofen.
Everyone looked at me like i was crazy but japan medicine is weaker! Not only that but muscle relaxers and any decent pain medication is not readily available 😢
Here where I live in Southeast Asia, we got both the topical pain relievers (Salonpas, Katinko, Tiger Balm, etc.) and the oral ones (Ibuprofen, Aspirin, etc.) So I dunno what's up with Japan and pain relievers heh heh
the mental image of Henya flailing around with a hooked fish is killing me. also the story about her cousins boyfriend is a kind of thing i think about a lot with vtubers, i wonder how many decided to stop vtubing because of word being spread around
funny thing is if something is legal in your state but illegal on the federal lvl then its still a crime if stopped and arrested by any authority at the federal lvl and if tried as a federal court case then ur prob fucked
With the way Henya's talking about her cousin, I'm gonna assume paternal. Makes sense, given that Henya was aaked by her cousin's boyfriend about if she was from Japan.
Honestly, if it wasn't for my late grandmother, who was also a police officer, to just straight up tell me that the US goobernment propaganda was lying to me about weed, I'd still probably believe the bullshit. I can personally confirm that weed is mostly harmless and not chemically addictive. I only say mostly because smoking it like a clueless dork will give you quite the coughing fit that can give you a rough tough, especially if it's your first time. Not saying you should go out and 420 blaze it everyday, just saying that a lot of laws honestly all over the world are based on propaganda at best, and outright lies at worst. Don't be breaking laws, but do be questioning them.
Glad you specified the chemical addiction. I know someone who is addicted, but it's mental not physical. Personally I can't take any because I'm allergic to it. Probably wouldn't help me anyway because most stimulants don't work on me due to a genetic mutation that runs in my family.
From a medical point of view, weed is probably one of the least harmful controlled substances out there. Sure, straight up smoking it all the time will do a number on your lungs, but there’s options like vapes and edibles. The primary “dangers” are the bad habits you form around chronic overuse, such as forsaking work, friends, and family to get effing stoned in your apartment. But that applies to almost any substance abuse, alcohol being the most prominent (with more severe impacts on health and social life). My biggest gripe with preventative education (or propaganda, if you will) is the scare tactics. Kids who try out controlled substances rarely experience any of the “horror stories”, and quickly lose all respect for what they were told. If there was any sound advice regarding bad habits, or for example opioids (where overdosing and physical addiction are very real dangers), those go out the window as well. And as most of us (hopefully) know, propaganda is highly polarising and anti-intellectual. I know people who still fully believe everything school told them about the subject. They view people who abuse or even just tried (!) controlled substances as subhuman, while regarding alcohol as “God’s chosen harmless alternative”.
I have spent my entire life living near or on the coast of the Great Lakes. I don't think I have ever heard anyone say that they want to go back. Not even locals. Especially not Michigan.
Japanese way of saying basically "right" or "you know right" at the end of a sentence. Asking to agree with the sentence. That's how it was explained to me on what dayo is.
"Da" is a less formal form of"desu", which is like english "is", but Japanese put it in the end of the sentence. "Yo" is a word, marking the exclamation. Thus, "dayo" is like saying "It is!". "Roses are red, violets are blue!" would be like "Roses are red, violets are blue, dayo."
Wait ... drugs make you see stuff that's not real? WTF is that why i'm seeing an anime girl talking at me through my computer right now? JFC i took way too much ...
I think I would struggle to take a legal document seriously if the lawyer said "I need you to sign this, dayo"
Shit I burst out laughing just thinking about it
the mental shock alone would rock me to my core
"I need you to do a 'the sign' on the paper, dayo"
I'm imagining Henya's family slipping "dayo" into their speech around her just to see if they can get away with it
Dayo
"USA DAYO" 🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like Henyas cousin has not one but TWO pet introverts! 🤣

My gf cousin cant be this cute kettle
Everyone knows that when you're reeling in a fish, you have to say "Fish on! Fish on!"
Nooooo… You have to scream and move around erratically and make strangers think you might be getting kidnapped. 🤭
Remember when she tried to stop saying Dayo? Yeahhh that didn’t work out very well

I hear Henya say dayo so much that i now hear her say it in my head when i see 'day 0'

the medicine being weaker is true fyi. smaller doses. also fun fact, if you are in the Philippines meds will fuck up even americans lol

All medicines can become dangerous if consuming too much. Am I correct with this?
yep
With the possible exception of homeopathic "medicine".

Weed just makes you lazy and unmotivated and that can be be very bad depending on the time and situation
It's a mind relaxant.
Sometimes having a relaxed mind is bad. For instance when you have work to do.
And this is also why addicts get slothful.
What weed are you smoking???.
With the way Henya's talking about her cousin, I'm gonna assume paternal. Makes sense, given that Henya was aaked by her cousin's boyfriend about if she was from Japan.

Drugs are not good but they are not all bad equally, if that makes sense.
What does DAYO even mean?????
It means nothing, ey. It's a way to make a statement sound more friendly and cutesy, ey. Other languages have sentence enders like that too, ey.
Japanese way of saying basically "right" or "you know right" at the end of a sentence. Asking to agree with the sentence. That's how it was explained to me on what dayo is.
I think the best way to describe it is it’s basically a verbal exclamation mark in Japanese. It’s used to add emphasis to a sentence
Similar use case to Brits saying "Innit" or Minnesotans saying "Don'tchya know?"

Of all the addictive drugs, weed is one of the least harmful. It is starting to become decriminalized.
One of weed's effects however is also convincing you not to worry about _anything._ Including weed.
least harmful, but still harmful.
You shouldnt do addictive drugs to begin with. You lose out on precisely zero things not doing them.
