I am deeply touched, Malcolm, that you would share my book with your friends and followers. Bless you for this! I hope you have a lovely Christmas and bright and happy New Year. With warmest wishes from Charles.
Thank you so much for sharing this book. I am obsessed and in love with Charles Van Sandwyk's books and beautiful artistry. His work is so amazing and unique! ❤
This was delightful! I love your channel, just discovered about a week ago. It helps satisfy my need for reading the classics. I am surrounded by farmers. 😉
That might be my favorite of all I’ve watched you read . Love trees and especially round this time when they turn blaze just before shedding till spring! Thanks Mr Malcolm , beautiful book!
Reminds me that I just visited an old redwood forest and found abundant bright yellow leaves fallen from the understory of willows. But every so often one of the splashes of yellow was actually a banana slug.
It's beautiful. Manifesting the enchanting nature of trees and fantasy into the very pages you're reading. Illustrations like this, in itself, makes a book more magical. I especially loved the first illustration of the trees on the hill with mountains in the distance, stars shining overhead. Brilliant!
Thank you so much, Malcolm! This is an inspiringly beautiful book and you have once again invited us so charmingly into your heartfelt thoughts. (And besides finding floor space in my own study, I have a special love for hedgehogs.) Plus being from the same southwest corner of the world as the author is touching for me.
It really is marvellous to hear your enthusiasm for literature, Mr Guite. If only I had not wasted my time playing pool, chasing girls and vice versa, maybe I could have worked hard enough to study at Cambridge!
This reminds me of Robert Macfarlane's quote from the Scottish mountaineer, who wrote his book on toilet paper twice while held captive by Nazis: "Find Beauty. Be still." (If you ever get a yearning to read some G.M. Hopkins, especially As Kingfishers Catch Fire, I'd love love love to hear you read him! )
Beautiful book! Although I don't know what this time of year is like in the U.K., I've always loved the changing of the leaves on trees during autumn. I recently had the thought, though, that autumn is such a beautiful time of year and yet, everything is changing color because it is dying. That's a bit of a glimmer of the gospel, trees at this time of year similar to looking at a crucifix. I know Thanksgiving isn't a U.K. holiday, so I'll just make a Tolkien reference instead and say Happy Eruhantalë (thanksgiving to Eru). 🍁
The leaves of this book leave a pleasant impression. I'm always looking for insights into leaves, since reading in Revelation 22 that the leaves of the trees of life will be used for the healing of the nations. I realized then that I need to know more about these natural offspring of trees.
Good to tune into you again Malcom I found your channel this time last year and I'm celebrating Thanksgiving Day here in the US and in line with my tradition I'm enjoying an after dinner Peterson Christmas Pipe that I officially bring out for the holidays this time each year with you 🙂 Hope you're well ❤️
glad to know you are a fellow poet, and thanks for the offer, but at the moment I've got so many books I've been sent to catch up on that at the moment I cant manage any more

Rackham is one of my favorite artists and I also immediately recognized his influence in that book’s wonderful illustrations.
Truly wonderful book. Thank you for sharing that Malcolm. Blessings to the trees!
