I love this series so much!!! I would really like a new season because the way the sixth season ended was not a solid ending.

It's a rare kind of show. I have a hunch that at it's height, it drew a certain demographic in. People who crave to have the unseen and neglected aspects of themselves wrapped in a warm blanket. It has a way of expressing that solitude can at times be a blessing even if it comes from tragedy. There is only a certain type of person that can appreciate the underlying themes of this show and I feel most others would find it quite boring (because they can't relate) or triggering (because they don't like thinking about loneliness). I love how far this show has come and how wide reaching it is all over the world. It shows how much depth the souls on this planet have and I find that so comforting.

Slice of life can be “boring” to some people but I find those series pretty endearing and gives life a different perspective. The underlying themes often fly past people but then the ones who get it are very similar to each other. I think it’s nice that the people who appreciate this are mostly good people ☺️

The most amazing lesson about compassion and love in natsume book of friends is, that you do not need to really understand someone, why they do stuff, what they are going through to show them compassion and treat them with kindness. The fujiwaras know something is of about him, so go Kitamoto and Nishimura. All four know Natsume lies to them, keeps stuff from them, vitniss stuff where there is not a sane explanation for but everyone of them decides to focus on his kindness, sweetness and compassion instead. No matter how aware they are of his worrying behavior, they just love him anyway.
Same goes for Natori, though in a different regard. Natori very well knows that Natsume is not mentally ill, his point of not understanding is Natsume selflessness, recklessness and compassion for beings that just tried to eat him a few moments ago. But compassion is importent to Natsume, so Natori disregards everything he learned about self-preservation and tries as hard as he can to live up to Natsume ideals no matter how illogical and dangerous it is. He loves that kid and the possibility that he dissapoints it is scary er to him then throwing everything he believes in overboard.

Amazing description of Natsume Yuujinchou. I truly like all of the characters in the series and each episode always teaches a new lesson. It always ends on a happy note and it’s something I rely on to get my serotonin. The series truly taught me about love, kindness, compassion, and about finding yourself. Words truly cannot describe how I feel when I watch each episode.

This is what keeps me coming back to the story.
    1. Seeing Natsume and protective Nyanko/Madara moments.
    2. Seeing Natsume grow in his relationships as his past is pretty lonely
    3. The drama of Natsume struggling being a person who 'sees.'
    4. Each adventure is unique but also brings back loveable side characters.
    5. Wanting to know more about the mystery that is Nyanko/Madara and how his and Natsume's future will be like.

I like Natsume as a main character a lot, because he's not some perfect nice guy pushover that gets people to like him just cause he's nice. There's SOOOO much more to him + throwing in Nyanko/Madara... they're just so much fun together.

I watched the series in April of 2020. It definitely impacted my life like no other because just like Natsume, I am always misunderstood by others because of my reserved, introverted personality. Here in the Philippines, people are rather outgoing, thus my desire to live in a rural place in Japan. However, the series also taught me to not take for granted the people I have significant connections with.
Rewatching it while waiting for season 7.
