I honestly don't blame them. On normal servers there's not lots of time (especially if you use custom make up) and ppl don't rlly have time to respond. Or the players just ignore you bc they're too lazy to respond :P. The people also might be foreign to english and don't know it. So, as pro (i hope so i am) player if that would happen to me, i'd try to explain it quickly. (alos thanks to the devs for adding theme explanation, it can help a lot to dress as accurate as you can without knowing the theme

When I was new there were soo many people helping me I kinda knew a bit from shorts but still they helped me and there was this girl who was tryna bully me for being new and not knowing how to change skin but they fought her and she left and they also gave me some compliments since I was not that bad for my first time 😭
