My mother said, “I gained a friend.”
My mom's been gone for going on five years now (died when I was 28) and my dad's been gone for 22 years, but this song really resonated with me. I've been left with a lot of great memories of both of them, and they both taught me lessons that have followed me all my life. What a lovely song, though the memories it invokes are more than a little bittersweet.
After so many listenings, this song still touches me deep inside. Absolutely wonderful
i fall in love with her every time i hear and see Anneke, she is such a beautiful person in all ways.
I lost my mother last year, and I was looking for a song which can speak to me... and this one did... Anneke's voice too.

Brava Anneke, you went to sing STRANGE MACHINE, towards this silly pop and really trivial. Lifestyle choices, I agree. But I can say that you were wrong in my humble opinion? I imagine, however, that you do not eat a lot with The Gathering :)
