My favourite song ever. Only playing guitar 3 years, have never got around to trying to learn this, it sounds so hard to play but its not when you actually have a go at it. Cheers man
Strangely enough, I was just listening to this today at random, and I haven't heard a Beatles song in weeks. Thanks for the tutorial, definitely one of my fav beatles songs.
Great stuff, man! You are the only guy on here I go to for Beatles lessons! You're just great! I can always count on you for a lesson that actually sounds like the real thing! Thanks again! Cheers!
Thank you for doing this song. Since I first started playing the guitar i wanted to learn this song and now I can. Keep doing what it doing and I'll keep watching.
First i try to find out the chords and the way you are playing it by taking a look at your older "A Day in the life" video...this helps to adjust my mistakes ...you know what i need! Thanks! ;-)
Hi. Just want to thank you for the Day In The Life video. I have recorded it and am working on it. It's a beautiful Sunday morning and watching your video strumming along with a good cup of coffee. Thanks again for starting my day off great! :)
You lucky bastard. I watched the songs from the performance on TH-cam, including Digsy's Dinner. Good to see he did Rocking Chair as well. Two weeks without my guitar will be tough - but I'm sure I'll manage (just) ;-)
very nice, i don´t have money to afford guitar classes and i always wanted to sing Beatles, so a really appreciate your effort for doing this videos. Thks Man
I'm 4 years late to the party, but, awesome lesson! Thanks a bunch mate! This girl I'm trying to.....well.....you know.....DATE that is a huge Beatles fan ask me if I knew how to play this. Now I do! I started melting her with Oh Darling, now I can impress her with A day in the life. Wish me luck. :-)
Great interpretations. Key to getting most from Pete is to simply turn Sound OFF! Avoid the jumbled start, stop in middle of verse or chorus non stop dialogue and incessant hesitation over whether to use A or Am. Skip to last third of any lesson where he plays straight through. Wow ... what a difference! Love the sound of his Epi. I match with my EC version and Martin D16GT. Still the tone from that Blue mic and short-cut FREE lessons are great.
Thanks. Always get a lot from your vids. I do have to agree with heidegger101 on the bridge however. Playing the Dsus2 - D note on the B string instead of the C# has that certain Beatles ring to it
It's not 1* it's definately 5. All you need is there, thanks. Sounds really good, gonna give that a go for sure. One of my favourites. BTW Noel was in excellent voice on Thursday night, you'd have loved it Pete, all the old ones, even Digsy's dinner lol!!!! You should have gone overseas last week...to London! Have a good one, are you taking your guitar with you? can you stand 2 weeks away from it??
There is a cool video here on utube where you can hear John Lennon or Paul reminding himself of how he wants the intro lick to sound "Sugar plum fairy, sugar plum fairy" Look up "Beatles - A day in the life (studio version. Very cool.
this comment is unrelated to the conversation, but please help! i dont understand the strumming. can you make a strumming tutorial for this song? please this is my fav beatle song and i want to learn how to play it
great lesson but that bridge part going from E to D (not A ) after the orchestral section is not correct you have it as A- I have a program called Transcribe where I can bring everything up an octave and then slow it down - it really brings out the bass lines which is the key to figuring out chords.
@georgiarose16 crooner's out to lunch. it's an Asus2 cos u're doing an A chord with the note of B on top thus the "sus 2" as B is the 2nd note in A major scale. an Esus4 is E chord with A note added i.e. 4th note of E major scale thus X22200.
My favourite song ever. Only playing guitar 3 years, have never got around to trying to learn this, it sounds so hard to play but its not when you actually have a go at it. Cheers man

I love all of your videos and tutorials!
Thanks from Germany
On the intro, you can also go from Em to Em7, splitting the bar in two for each chord. That's what I do, but it's close enough. Great tutorial!
Amazing video, I watch it ever day as I practice.
Thank you for doing this song. Since I first started playing the guitar i wanted to learn this song and now I can. Keep doing what it doing and I'll keep watching.
thank you for making this video peter. im a beginer guitar player and you inspired me to learn some basic chords so i could learn how to play this.

Good job mate. I like the commentary too.
John actually strums one down next up… it’s a detail but it makes a real difference on sound 👍
Very nice
I remember those days
Thanks Peter, I'll do this one oneday :)
muito bom. Obrigado!
I too, am a fan of the four finger G.
great song man!! and the sound of that guitar is fantastic!! it is a Gibson ???
English is not my native languaje, but still it's amazing how I can't tell the difference when you say E and A. Will have to see your fingers.
@gtrdoc911 Mate - I'll take your word for it. I've got no idea with all that stuff. Cheers.
Exselente auque no se ingles te entiendo todo eres el mejor gracias
Informative and funny too.
There is a cool video here on utube where you can hear John Lennon or Paul reminding himself of how he wants the intro lick to sound "Sugar plum fairy, sugar plum fairy" Look up "Beatles - A day in the life (studio version. Very cool.
Nice job, mate.
Great!
I love your tutorial ! How long do you play guitar ?
this comment is unrelated to the conversation, but please help! i dont understand the strumming. can you make a strumming tutorial for this song? please this is my fav beatle song and i want to learn how to play it
nice video! but is there any way you can play a different chord instead of the b minor or does it have to be b minor its such a hard chord.
fantastic
Спасибо за разбор
Thank you! ^^
Muy buen Tutorial.
are you playing the E string C with extra bass? Great lesson btw, your version is my favourite.
Yep, good one.
Nice job
I just checked several chord charts and all say it is an Asus2 (or Esus4)? Anyway - whatever it is.... it's a X02200.
great lesson but that bridge part going from E to D (not A ) after the orchestral section is not correct you have it as A- I have a program called Transcribe where I can bring everything up an octave and then slow it down - it really brings out the bass lines which is the key to figuring out chords.
Y u no wear ur beatles signature t-shirt?
this song is about paul mcarteneys death 'a crowd of people stood and stared, theyd seen his face before.
Hey man!! Can you make the tutorial " I PUT A SPELL ON YOU by CCR?? Please...
Dragged a comb across my head (Dsus2), friends
Yes.
Yes was going to say same
@georgiarose16 crooner's out to lunch. it's an Asus2 cos u're doing an A chord with the note of B on top thus the "sus 2" as B is the 2nd note in A major scale. an Esus4 is E chord with A note added i.e. 4th note of E major scale thus X22200.
instead of the aminor play b note in stead of c and for the bridge play the d chord with the e string open
@Crooner2508 he's definatly playing it right
@georgiarose16 yup, i know my music theory. i just wish i had your natural rhythm and good voice too. cheers to u:)
2:02 love it! "ok i fucked it up a bit" :)
