I am shooting with a very old but reliable PMW-200. I would love to see a side by side of this new camera with some of the earlier xdcam cameras - especially when comparing the result in HD. Some new camera don't seem to perform as well shooting HD as 4k. The PMW-200 in HD side by side with the new camera would be interesting.
My PMW-200 was 1.5 year old and one day it stop working. I used to have extender warranty of 2 years so I send it to the official service shop but they didn't know what it is and they send it to Belgium to sony. Two weeks later Sony respond that my PMW-200 its not economicly repearable and that they will send a new one. So cz they are not making thhe 200 model any more they replace it with 280 model. 4 weeks later i got the brand new Sony PXW-Z280 but first day on filming i saw that on wide angle my lens is losing the focus. :( hope i will fix the problem if not i will have to wait again for sony to fix a brand new camera
@@watchvideosoul i have to calibrate the focus with focus chart, it help a bit but its not perfect. Now I have another brand new 280 (i own 2 sony pmw 280s bit both have the same problem.) They are good cameras but have some problems with the focus. For example my FS7 MK2 i cant complain about it. Works like a dream 👌
HELLO A&S! I just got my Sony PMW-EX1R and shot some footage! My question is: I used an SXS Adapter to transfer my video mp4 files to my computer! The problem is the Palmcorder puts each take in a separate folder making, batch capturing impossible! Besides using the USB out in Media Mode, can I use the Fire Wire IDEE Output to do the same? Will Adobe Premiere recognize it and control it like it does with a Mini DV Cam? Is there an advantage of using a USB vs a Fire Wire IDEE?
I'm getting grainy footage from my z280, even at 0dB gain and f2.8. Its a grainier, softer image than the inexpensive Canon Vixia. What is the trick for getting clean footage from the z280?
Hi A&S Broadcast Limited Thanks for video The big problem is with LED PAR lights/ especially under blue light/.it was in EX1R , PMW200, and PXW200. How is this with the new one?
Is there any chance you can look into or talk about this subject..... Instead of continuing to make camcorder with 1/3”or 1/2 “, sensors such as Sony pxw z150 and z280, why can’t Sony also make a camcorder with the sensor and mount of their D-SLR A7 series cameras. Just imagine a camcorder with the quality, low light ability of A7sii (or the new A7siii), with audio Xlr, no more over heating issues, no more video limit of 30min, Built in ND filters etc etc not forgetting the full frame bokeh!!!!! surely there is a Market for this type of camcorder with a full frame sensor and mount??? So why hasn’t Sony made such a camcorder????? Kull
I believe the X200 (same lens) goes to f2.4 at full telephoto. The X180 goes from f1.6 to f2.6. Most of these zooms have roughly one stop of ramping when zooming in...the exception being the high end glass on the 3MOS 1/3" cameras like JVC and Panasonic, they maintain f1.4 through the entire zoom range.
I'd love to see any updated review of this and the Z190 now that the cameras are released.

You want a full frame handheld camcorder with E mount? So basically, you want an FS5 with a full frame sensor.
Paul Anderegg Good luck getting a 17x zoom for that.
Can we see this paired with the MCX-500?
Hi, good review, a question is the lens F1.9 all the way like the EX1R, or it close to F4 or F5 when you zoom in? thanks

Verbal filter?
Or variable?
