Extraordinaire!!!! In my humble opinion, the notes are on the sheet music for Gert to use as a guide, but the “real music” is ensconced in Gert’s heart and soul. I feel that is where he plays from. Such an amazing talent. I have been waiting for this concert from Hanley to be posted. Thank you, Gert, Marjolein, Mark, and Papa Van Hoef (Special Thank You's for all the videography) and the entire GVH team. I can't wait to see Part 2.

I agree entirely Terry. Gert is fantastic at using the written music combined with the capabilities of a particular instrument and mixing it all together with the emotions in his heart to create something ‘greater than the sum of its parts’.

It was so good to be there and see you live after following your livestreams and videos for so long. During the pandemic one reason I wanted the lockdowns to end was so Gert could finally return to the UK. My teen son (whose musical taste is often quite different to mine!) now keeps humming ‘onward christian soldiers' around the house and loves to hear this video again.

Very super as always! Why more/ most performers don't get? -- the use of and musical satisfaction of *a variety* of sound-loudness levels & of contrasting (simultaneous!) Legato and detached, articulation and phrasing, and changing beat (pulse) importance-- is beyond me.
Even from the very beginning Gert gives us music and musicality not merely massive notes!
Magnificent! Envious of all who could be there in person.

What a blissful reminder of a very special day. To see Team GvH present such a spectacular was such a pleasure. Thanks to all involved in hosting such a life affirming event. To see Gert live is one of the joys of my life. It was also such fun meeting for real those whom I recognised from the live chat. I use to work for a pipe organ company as a case assembler before they laid off and went under. I've heard lots of people play organ and I can say you are 1 of the very few that perform on an organ so well, that you can hold an audience's interest the entire time and always apropriate the voices of the organ to become a kaleidoscope to the music and your performance. Nicely done.

After all the hype i was unable to attend i was really gutted, i mistakenly double booked the same day to attend my son in law's brother's 40th party in Newmaket on the same day and only living a few miles from Hanley. Great to hear the event on youtube, i will have to wait till next time.

Ik ben nu al 4x live erbij geweest, en het is iedere keer weer een happening. Gelukkig hoeven we nu geen twee jaar te wachten om opnieuw ervan te genieten, volgend jaar augustus is het weer zover! 🌞

Always enjoy your concerts at Hanley and have had the privilege of being at a previous concert. On this occasion I would like to comment on the quality of the video production. The camera resolution meant I could read the names on the organ stops and the clarity and range of the audio meant I could hear all the bass through to treble on this magnificent organ. Hope to see you live at Hanley next time.

An amazing performance so confidently played. The Prelude and Fugue in G by Bach was a little hurried for my liking but accurately played.

Een verschrikkelijk lelijk poppenkast orgel, denk zo electro pneumatisch. Al die knoppen, een kermis front, brr. Wordt een beetje orgel door de organist !
