I realized my marriage was crap watching an episode of SLV. I texted my friend and said "XXX and I don't love each other the way Riley and Elayna do". Realizing that changed my life.
You guys are so lovely together. I could feel the panic and the pain as Riley relived the time when he thought Elayna had fallen overboard and truly felt for him. The relief he obviously felt at seeing her walk out of the bathroom they never used was tangible. I laughed when they said this is not a feel good video. Love you guys.
Extra treat! So excited to see a video on a Friday. I remember all of these situations, and for sure they were very scary. I remember when Riley jumped off the boat and split his head open, which was horrendous to watch AND hear! So glad that didn’t mess his neck up. Anyway, I love the way you love each other. What a beautiful, loving, tightly knit couple you are. Just love you two, soon to be three! Be safe!
That overboard story is what I have harped about many times. You never know when a slip on a table, or something else, is going to catapult you off the boat into the water for who knows how long,. Even if you are seen going overboard. In calm waters, you can see a golf ball floating a mile away, but in swells, you couldn't see a whale if it was next to you! I'm a life jacket guy, at least wear a lifebelt, my friend!
Sharing like you have these years sailing is great. Sharing like you have today , your fears ( which were well based fears indeed ) , was very heartwarming. Expressions of the love between you both and your connection to each other was wonderful. Comforting each other through your telling, thanks. Putting a title before each story AWESOME! Thanks for not faking just to pop a video out. Stay safe. Riley is still Da McGuyver ( spelling off ) even if 2 anchors were too much under the circumstances. You're both impressive in your life attitude
Oh Man! We are living this with you as you recount these stories!! Rough!!! Its pretty amazing how you are able to make it seem like we are all there with you!!! Well done - artists the both of you! Love ya! Aimee in DC
I remember the episode well... I have been watching since the beginning ...it is the most fantastic love story/adventure of my 67 years Bless you both and may your guardian angels always be with you
How sweet...the absolute panic of the thought that your wife and "everything" has gone overboard and lost to the sea...to the complete comfort and relief to discover she was just plucking her eyebrows in seldom used guest bath:) Great story
Love to see the coffee-making film trick-filming from the bottom of the tea pot. The small extra things to make a cool video. Good attitude. As usual, an entertaining video.
Yes, I saw it from Peter McKinnon as well. But my point was that I like it when people do the effort and make entertaining editing-no matter where they found their inspiration.
Lots of intense moments in this one, love you guys. In Turkish there is a saying, "It's hard to be happy without witnessing rough days", watching you is the best evidence
Wow, thank you for sharing these painful moments with us. Your emotions just flowed out in buckets and even though it was difficult to see, it was beautiful at the same time. The power and love between the two of you is wonderful. Thanks guys and hope you guys don't have any more of these scariest moments again. Cheers!
What a crazy, great, heartwarming video! Y'all have had mostly good or at least decent times sailing the world, but these obstacles have made both of you stronger! Thanks for sharing!
You two are the best parents for your baby! You will hear it over and over again, because it’s true. We live our life’s building up to our next challenges. Everything you have learned in life from empathy to self discipline of running your boat will shine through in the skills of parenting. My advice is try to really enjoy everything. Yes it’s hard in the beginning but it’s beautiful as well. I was young when I had my first son and I enjoyed it but I stressed a lot. I promised to enjoy my moments even the tired ones with my second baby, because as they say they grow up fast. And it’s true. There are a lot of sleepless nights ahead, yes, but more then that there are lots a belly laughs, snuggles, and sweet kisses. Your heart will be full and that is the most exciting thing to think about! 🌺 Rachel C
srsly, you guys are that kind of couple i adore and respect, you seem to have lived through so much and kept on going, be safe out there and enjoy whatever you're doing :)
First thing I do every video is hitting that like button. I just know I am going to enjoy it! Greeting from Norway, come by some time. We have very nice fjords to sail in. Love you guys!
I enjoy hearing ALL of your stories! (Living vicariously and it's great!) Sorry for the rough times! Glad you're still up and sailing! Thanks for the videos! ~ Towie Bixby-Vidor
Awwww. Two thumbs up. This is why SLV is SLV. A great idea to do this. Genuinely beautiful moments. Muchos gracias, as they might say in parts of South-East Coober Pedy and some side streets of Biggar, Saskatchewan.
Uh, Riley those are some "Manly" tiger shorts. You two have tasted and savored some serious sailing experiences but having watched most of your videos I can honestly say they are a excellent example of the kinds of things that happen to sailors and the kinds of things they talk about when gathering around a campfire on some distant island. All of these combine to paint a perfect picture of life aboard and sailing around the world. Thanks for making this video and as always it was great to see the love you two share for each other. Cheers Al Seattle, WA
Like always , great vid .. Thru all the bad , most that came came out at the end for me was the humor and i believe that kept you guys going ..... and made your relationship step up every time ....
5:54 in. Just listened to your first story. Edge of seat stuff. I remember in a very early SLV episode Riley talking about the stars disappearing and reappearing again. Now I get where that happened. There was also waterspouts in an early episode as well. Must be same few days, perhaps. Not something you tell the folks back home right away, I imagine. Now on to more scary bits...
Just found out about you two and so glad I did. Would loved to have done what you are doing now.....but just wasn't meant to be, but how wonderful for all of us out here on the internet that we can watch and enjoy what you both are doing. It really is a welcome break to my day!! Thanks and keep them coming
The 1st vid I saw of yours in real time was when you went and saw the cat for the 1st time. I went back and caught up and have seen them all. I remember all of these rough times. you guys rock!
Loved this video... Having sailed the mediterranean for years with my parents, I for sure know how easy is to be scared for your loved ones! Love, and have good winds!
I guess it's good to talk thing out & relive them, to release the pressure, but the look of Elayna tearing up at times was hard to watch. Glad you shared that & at the same time, wish you hadn't.
What a rough video to watch because I remember the events. I have told people about some of them and it did not make me emotional but watching you guys retell them churned it all back up for me.
Way cool, and so real looking back.! These times will help you both, to prepare for the tough decisions ahead. You have not, and will not be alone in this regard.! Be safe, and as always, be sure.!
You always get a thumbs up from me. But thanks for reminding me of these past editions, ones I have watched nemerous times because of the gravity of the situation. You have shared the highs and lows, and luckily for both of us the highs have far outnumered the lows. But the lows remind us of the dangers involved, the heart required, and the depth of caring shared between you two. Love ya.
Be safe duderinos! Coming from an aviation guy, there are certain events you cant predict but (from what I've seen) you guys are fuckin solid in risk management. Stay confident! (not too confident!) Love ya work - AC
And just as you tell about the weather clearing up, the sound of the rain starts to quiet down ;) Like the hair-fish-sacrifice-thing, a charming charm in your endeavour ;)
Hey guys just wanted to say that i love you guys and i found your channel exactly 12 days ago and after watching 1 of your videos i was hooked so i started from the beginning and watched every single video you have posted. I started 12 days ago and just finished ten minutes ago it was the greatest binge watch of my life. Thanks for being a great distraction from exams you've got me hooked can't wait for more videos and i can't stop thinking about doing what you guys did/are doing but I'm going to finish uni first then I'll think about the next step hahahah anyway thanx for being so great and inspirational and you two make me proud to be Aussie haha idk why but ya do anyway i can't wait for your next vid and i can't wait to see where your life goes next i feel like I've been on a journey with you two in the last couple days anyway thanks for being you and i hope everything is well. Bye.
"this is not a feel good film?" (LOL) good laugh on that one ....I enjoyed your tales of the sea, and may you have only happy times. Keep learning and improving. We all learn from mistakes. Thanks for sharing your life's experience with us. We all come away from it better people.
So ... you guys are absolutely lovely . Its such a pleasure to park off on my bed at home , doggies cuddled up around me , laptop on lap and binge watch your channel .... such an amazing love story .... and i am loving life on board with Lenny .....
The amazing thing about your sailing adventures is that it's just you against nature....the SCARY thing about sailing is that it's just you against nature. As much as people see the fantastic and challenging aspects of boating, the TH-cam viewers have to see the bad side too, it keeps it real and weeds out the fantasy boaters from the true seafarers. Also PIRATES! I always wonder about them b/c these solo vessels with small crews are easy targets, truly like in the days of old. Do you have firearms or less than lethal options? (don't have to answer) Well there's always the Spear Gun....continued good luck and safe travels!
I work as a proofreader and the correct spelling is "where".You are welcome and I know many people do not speak English on this feed but I got my Phd. in English so I'm trying to help.
Debra Did you have a difficult time understanding what Don was saying? I didn't think so! It's not often we have proofreaders on TH-cam, I can imagine just how valuable your services to less accomplished are, even if we don't care! Just saying!
I was trying to be helpful since it is my nature.I also alert sailors about the latest weather events, as of right now with the 2 Lows off of Cabo Verde. You are welcome.
Thanks R&E those were some emotional doozies for sure,(I remember them all) your kid is gonna have a nice documention of his mom and pops lives to that point for sure. Love the stories. cheers Steve
Just a few seconds in and ready with my first comment. Great opening shot. Good light, friendly face- that's harder than it seems to find on TH-cam, a welcoming friendly face to draw you into the episode, so many try to bring that- it's an effort for them- they put everything they have into those first seconds to draw you in- Peter McKinnon's "What's up?" opening is forgiveable as it's his trademark- but it's as much welcoming friendly as it is professionally friendly. Elayna's certainly got openings cornered, she has a natural your-friendly-neighbour-glad-to-see-you face that some people who like genuinely like people seem to naturally have. Just a few seconds in and have to make that comment. Good light in the opening shot, sun must be in that Hollywood light zone. And now to continue and view the scary parts...
Many people under estimate what the weather in the Mediterranean can be like. Have been in a 32ft motor boat in Turkey in force 7 at night and ensuring we were bow on into the steep waves, was a very scary for 6 hrs! Had Intended to stay overnight in the tiny cove where we were anchored for the night cause the forecast was bad, but that was until a forest fire came down over the the pine forested hill above us, and sparks started landing on the decks! A night to remember!!
I didn't realize ye be been sailing the briny deep for 4 years mates! Those be some great tales to tell if ye ever write a book! Enjoyed watching mates!
I’m so glad I came across this I didn’t look at the timeline. But I’ve been worried sick about Riley‘s neck after seeing him clunk his head and then not be able to feel his left arm. So I’m really glad all is OK with that and also I wondered what you guys would do in case of Pirates. So you kind of answered that too. Elaina I’m glad you have a spot where you can hide. That makes me feel a little bit better. I think I would have all my spear diving equipment at the ready. Anyway that was one of my questions I had to ask after Riley got hurt. I’m glad I found this. Love to you both from California💜🤟🏻😎🇺🇸
Hey beauties! I just want to thank you two for the awesome videos!! You have made my days brighter and it brings me back to growing up on the boat! Sending you all my love and positivity! Wishing you high winds and safe travels! Xo Manda
Really good recap. My advice (maybe unwanted )On the dragging anchor story... Next time slip that anchor with floater at it. You can go to the harbour.. or this way you can assist the other boat better. The broken neck story scared me too...;-) I was so glad you both made it and all when’d well..
I remember thinking on a couple occasions that Riley needs to be bubble wrapped. Thank you so much for sharing but if I may put in another vote for a top 5 favorite moments please.
I'm a new sub. Having said that, I have binge-watching all of your videos for the last 3 weeks to the point of losing sleep and dreaming of having that lifestyle. I used to want to live on a boat. Now that I've watched your videos I realize that it is just a dream for me. I am hey disabled veteran with severe limitations. I wonder if you will ever make a video of bloopers. Just an idea for a new video. Also I have one last question, how many times have you two Falling in Love? Since you're stowaway you show more affection on film. My guess is he fall in love everyday. I admire what you do. If I could I would be a patron but I'm unable to do so. I will always support by giving you a thumbs up every video. Keep On Keepin On.
Such drama, I can't wait for the baby. I do hope you two, or three, along with your guests, continue your adventurous life on board for many years to come. You do have a beautiful boat and Riley is competent enough, Alaina is lovely and endearing. From my inland perspective I almost wish I could join you two for a week sometime. What I'd like you to acquire though is a patron Saint and a faith perspective. Perhaps you just don't want to bring religion into the conversation at this point, but I'm sure, with all your inquiring, you've considered what the metaphysical/spiritual bottom line is. But God bless your endeavors and thank's for sharing all you do.
now thats taking the good with the bad , or is it the bad with the good ,, excellent stuff guys ,,thats what it is all about , for 2 people together anyway ... c ya's
The sailing videos are nice, but this is really a love story...
Indubitably !
I realized my marriage was crap watching an episode of SLV. I texted my friend and said "XXX and I don't love each other the way Riley and Elayna do". Realizing that changed my life.
I agree..I love following SLV
Ryan that is high bar to reach...not sure I can but it is a worthy goal
Lol!!!
Omg. Your eyebrow story was the saddest and the sweetest. You can never deny that Riley loves you Elayna. True love. Besos.
Love you guys.
next you can do the 5 happiest.
maybe getting pregnant??? )))))
Do the 5 Happiest!!!!!
Too many times
I guess it will be very hard for them to decide for the 5 happiest, because there are just so many 🙂

You two are the most captivating storytellers. I could, and do, watch you guys for hours. That sounded creepier than it’s meant to.
Be safe!
A truly beautiful relationship you two have!
Really enjoyed this one - it's good to see the 'flip-side' of golden light and perfect anchorages every now and then. This one hit me in the feels!
I had goosebumps and tears throughout this whole video. It really shows the love you both have for each other x
Its sweet that both had a story about loosing one another. Been binge watching these videos for days now and seriously love them.
You relived those moments for us.
Blessings and stay safe.
We love you 😘
Sharing like you have these years sailing is great. Sharing like you have today , your fears ( which were well based fears indeed ) , was very heartwarming. Expressions of the love between you both and your connection to each other was wonderful. Comforting each other through your telling, thanks. Putting a title before each story AWESOME! You're both impressive in your life attitude
It's really touching to hear each of your worst moments involve losing each other. I hope I find love like that one day.
One of the scariest moments was when Riles hit his head on the back of the boat! That one made me cringe!
327365hp same
Imagine if he broke his neck then
Yep so unassuming too. Could have been a game ender
Oh Man! We are living this with you as you recount these stories!! Rough!!! Its pretty amazing how you are able to make it seem like we are all there with you!!! Well done - artists the both of you! Love ya! Aimee in DC
I remember the episode well... I have been watching since the beginning ...it is the most fantastic love story/adventure of my 67 years Bless you both and may your guardian angels always be with you
i have never seen love this strong and pure before. I hope i will be blessed with something like this one day.
The boats window handles (in this 'shot') look like two mini vintage pistols.
@Egmont
Can you remember the episode number?
Cheers
How sweet...the absolute panic of the thought that your wife and "everything" has gone overboard and lost to the sea...to the complete comfort and relief to discover she was just plucking her eyebrows in seldom used guest bath:) Great story
Like #100! Riley was the sweetest at the end kissing Alayna’s head!
Agree... Riley rarely shows affection... that being said... I don't think Ive ever seen two people so in love... they ooze it!!!
Love to see the coffee-making film trick-filming from the bottom of the tea pot. The small extra things to make a cool video. Good attitude. As usual, an entertaining video.
Yeah I am still trying to figure out how that was done! Anyone know?
Yes, with a GoPro. I guess she put a GoPro in the pot on a slightly higher spot, pointed it upwards, and poured the water around it, into the pot.
Cold water. It's one of the youtubers Peter Mckinnon tricks
.
Yes, I saw it from Peter McKinnon as well. But my point was that I like it when people do the effort and make entertaining editing-no matter where they found their inspiration.
I agree :)
Hello... that’s about all I have to say you guys are actually amazing and when I’m old enough I want to try and sail forever. Thank you guys
Jack
Been watching a good 2ish years now, always refreshing to watch your content no matter what mood i am in. Keep it up guys :)

Thanks for the videos!

What a rough video to watch because I remember the events. I have told people about some of them and it did not make me emotional but watching you guys retell them churned it all back up for me.
But in the end you both have lived such interesting lives with stories to tell and love in your hearts.....great vid
I have to say that watching you both together is such an amazing thing to see. The love you share is beautiful. Love it.
Love the coffee scene "from the cups point of view" Thank you love your videos!!! Keep on

I got to agree with Michael Kirby, this is a love story with you both playing the lead roles, and living your dreams... love you both please be safe.

This one is one of my favorite videos. Thank you! You guys are great.

Hi guys! I’m still watching and loving your videos from Afghanistan. Keep it up!
Those are scary stories. Your brave to recount those tough times. Now , back to the happy stuff. 😁👍
Wow the one story wear you though Elaina was overboad brought tears to my eyes . Thanks for this video but no more like this please . Don from Canada

“I had a sarong on and no nickers”. Riley, smiling, “ahhh”. 😹😹😹
You two are the cutest!
Sounds like you are right where you need to be! Enjoy the wind!
love to hear these stories, stay safe out there, and keep close watch on those hurricanes. It is the heart of the Cape Verde season right now.
Just a few seconds in and have to make that comment. Good light in the opening shot, sun must be in that Hollywood light zone. And now to continue and view the scary parts...
Love your videos, & I’m thankful the both of you are safe together. Safe travels, & fair winds 👍

Love to you both from California💜🤟🏻😎🇺🇸
You guys are so entertaining and educational, not to mention, sweet and friendly :-)
Hey beauties! I just want to thank you two for the awesome videos!! You have made my days brighter and it brings me back to growing up on the boat! Sending you all my love and positivity! Wishing you high winds and safe travels!

Love your videos, your are true great people. Never give up on your dreams.
Love the stories. Seems I’ve been watching your videos longer than I thought. I remember most of those.
Love you guys. Take care with the upcoming hurricanes!
Loved this one!!!! Love you guys!!!
Your mom & I are proud of you! Love Dad.

Wow! You really find out what you are made of in those situations. Amazing!
love the camera in the tea pot, bean a cinecameraman for over 40 years and thats a great shot 10 out ten. Cooky
You guys seem so good together , so happy for you two!
But God bless your endeavors and thank's for sharing all you do.
now thats taking the good with the bad , or is it the bad with the good ,, excellent stuff guys ,,thats what it is all about , for 2 people together anyway ... c ya's
Can you make a Top 5 Favorite Moments video?
You say it’s an adventure story and it is but I would argue it’s even more a love story. Everything comes back to how much you love each other
You guys are awesome. Much love.
Love you guys. Let God watch over you 3 always.
Did they really put a camera in their coffee cup in order to get that shot. More importantly did they drink the coffee.
Dope
Tea
my guess is clear cup, camera under
a go pro in the cup
Go Pro in cup with cold water, no steam in vid. She didn't drink it, was a clever vid/edit trick.
Thank you so much for sharing. I just love you two!!!
Good video guys, despite the sad moments. It gives you life experience. Keep it up:-)
Elayna I respect your perfectionism!
