- How I made real life Mantis Blades from Cyberpunk 2077(16M views on Tiktok)! Multiple motors, LEDs and sensors help my Mantis Blades become a total eyecatcher fashion piece. I already wore these to a Cosplay convention, and it was a camera-magnet!
They’re intuitive and super fun to use. I go over how and why I chose to build this version, as well as the most important details of the process - with a reveal at the end. I hope you guys like it!

If these ever become a purchasable product even if just for cosplay purposes, I would instantly know what my next one is going to be.
“even just for cosplay” and not for stabbing? 😂 love it
What other purposes??
@@happyd6426 I mean, these are neat and all, but my inner 12 year old would love a functional pair. The same instinct that made me the owner of ninja stars and nunchucks over the years.
If I ever become a double arm amputee, I am absolutely going to commission someone to make me some actual Mantis Blades
He said he considered doing them for commission in a yt short I think, so you may be in luck😁
sweet chrome choom! hope to see more chrome outa you
One of the best ripperdocs of his time, some preem chrome
@@Myscrientmy choomba he's probably the best ripperdoc out there
Preem.
@@Myscrient I trust him more than that ripperdoc David had. He didn't even tell David about Immunoblockers or anything.
I know right, huh chombatta? It's nova!
This is fucking awesome. And now we wait for the sharp steel ones..
Next step is steel or tungsten heated blades 😳
Or vibroblades.
Obsibian blades
Certainly nailed the soulless aesthetic of 'saka. Hope to see you recreate more chrome like this.
You call it "soulless", I call it "cool asf"
damn your profile picture is basically the mod icon for Dimensional Doors
The amount of work and passion that you put into this is amazing! Incredible as always!
Thank you so much for your kind words Anhyra
@@Zibartaskeep it going choom
Yeah, really cool. Now build a functional sandevistan
10:34 A Princess, a edgerunner, and Cthulu himself walked into a bar...
Idea for the upgrade
Make sandy shaped power box to fit better with estetic
That's... Actually brilliant
Very smart
That would be so sick
gigabrain
dude this is awesome!!! keep it up!!!!
damn no replies under a verified ytber?
Choom chipped in finally
Even the vanilla game doesn't have it. Sheesh, Oda's mantis blade looks so cool!
Ok, of course you couldn't get it implanted into your real arm. But hear me out: there are people who lost an arm and it is possible to make prosthesis for these. So if I understand right, it is theoretically possible to do real accurate mantis blades that actually go into the arm
my good man i literally just had a dream about having my own mantis blades (not bodymodded) but as making them myself and lo and behold, i run into your video and the whole build explanation is a cherry on the top. love your work and you're awesome!
A sandevistan on the spine would be a perfect place to route and conceil a controller/power unit.
This is awesome.
This is absolutely beautiful. Just learning to mix LEDs and 3D printing myself and its honestly the best hobby ever :D Can't imagine how much time you've spent mastering your craft.
I came up with a 3D printed diffuser ring for my NeoPixel rings. It's two pieces that I glue together to make a donut / sandwich shape. Printed in clear PLA, you can get some really cool diffusion effects (regular diffusion, 'lines', etc.) by changing the fill %.
Alternatively, find a veteran friend with two prosthetic arms and go to town.
Next step: attach it into your forearm. Conceal it perfectly.
WOW!! I kinda at a loss of words but this is so well done. You are so smart and imaginative. Well done sir! I wish I was your apprentice.
Sick blades!
There was a guy that lost an eye for one reason or another, so he made himself some sick Kiroshi's. Glowing ones. Half of us just said we'd purposely go blind just to have them 🤣
As cool as the hidden ones in game are, I wish there was an option to have them visible on the arms like yours, they look awesome
I want a set of these more badly than I can articulate. They are AMAZING!
Specifically, only cyborgs without hands can make blades from a hand. but you can make a more complex mechanism so that both parts, wrapping around the arm, move out of the plane and unfold. then the blade still sticks out across but doesn’t look so bad on the hand
I actually want to buy this if it was purchasable 😂 this is awesome!
Now use a neuralink and replace your whole arm with prosthetic ones and install the Mantis blades
Ngl, the flatlined sound at the beginning , the keytone sounds, made me wanna hop on and play again.
Its crazy how accessible these materials are now we can make such quality products in our own home
this looks absolutely amazing, Great work!
Fabulous as always, and thank you for sharing that it doesn't always go perfectly, even for someone as experienced as you. It gives hope to those of us who are wanting to try, and are afraid to fail.
Hugely underrated you deserve millions of views.
Next project make the blades solid metal, and glow from high heat!
"Too close for Mantis blades, switching to Projectile launcher!"
Dude, those are so freakin sick!!! You're like a mad genius bro!!!
That is so EPIC! ❤
I just received my 1st Arduino boards and have some neopixel strips on the way.
This video is very inspirational for a newbie like me...
I can't wait to get started!
Thanks for all your hard work! 👍
Burning arm blades are one of the coolest accessories a person can wear.
I stg I’ve been telling my friends I wanted to build these, you hit it out of the park though
Wow. That's pretty cool. You have a good demonstration and funny humor sketches.
Thank you very much! I like building things a lot - but pure crafting doesn't translate well into an entertaining video :D
The blade is actually inspired by the mantis shrimp and how they hunt
Very nice, the only variation I’d make is adding some legit blades. wishing you a speedy road to 100k subs.
Find someone with no arms, build them the most awsome prosthetic arms to ever exist
He's the true Cyberpunk Street Kid
0:00 HPAPHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. The sound of sheep motors, is killing me :)
Preem chrome choom! Now we can handle our biz with saka and smasher.💪😎
LEDs should turn off when they retract. Maybe even with a slow fade in and out to indicate the metal is heating up.
Or just make metal variant, make module inside, that youll connect to like… 800 ampers and it will heat up to real 1000+ celsius. Better to make them outa tungusten steel
Lo que pienso: I'm Spanish, but that doesn't matter, what I want to say is that yes, we can. Making a Cyberpunk prosthesis, for example, Mein's and others that are in the game, you can literally put on a prosthesis and connect it to your arm, and you would already have a 35-millimeter pipe on your arm. It will also not be easy with other prostheses like the grade sandevistan David's military, although we can hook it or replace it with the spinal column if we don't have to chrome ourselves too much or if we don't have cybersycosis.
Absolutely breathtaking! Would be awesome if u'd sell the files somewhere.
Interesting... 🤔
I found your video because it was recommended when I swiped left from my home screen on my Galaxy Fold5......thought that was kind of cool!!
Id love to make this!
Gotta love how they're pressure sensitive!
Mate, you are so professional in everything, keep it up, you should have millions of subs once some vids get picked up by Reddit or sth.
I was waiting for this episode for so long
You could also add a spring mechanism to lock the shell halves, like medieval vambraces. Check them out, they're very similar to the solution you came up with.
Man you're underrated as hell, look forward to seein more of your stuff!
SICK!!
that's nova choom !
Only one more step to go choom. I'll get the saw.
Omg those are AMAZINGGGG 😮💨😮💨😮💨
This guy is gonna work at Arasaka tower in no time
Mantis Bladees are My faviroute and Signature Arm Mod
You're rocking some preem chrome choomba!
Holy moly, that is perfect
Perfect as always man! You're crafts are always inspiring me. Keep it up!
I would love to see a more compactable version of these, like ones that can fold, but pretty thin so that you can hide them under a sleeve comfortably or even go over your whole arm to hide under a sleeve, maybe be designed after the ones from that 2013 trailer, i would totally buy a pair of those for a cosplay
Born to be called “different” forced to be called “chrome junkie”
I Need these in my life.
can you make a glowing ghostrunner mask and sword maybe? maybe with a glove with contacts so it get elctricity without being attached to you or battery in the handle
This is really cool, great work choom !!
Good to see you are still at it :)
Cool.
Bro turned into an evil arasaka engineer
Its 2024 and this guy already got the prem work
If you end up somehow making a version available to sell, even if it's a per-order basis, i would buy in a heartbeat
Seconding this
Woah! Thats awesome dude!! Definitely subscribed for more of this, even if you don't make more cyberpunk (I'd understand if you dont want to install LED whips on your arms aka. the monowire)
Nice job, Choom
It would be really cool if you could make these with a robotic hand linked to you fingers at the end so it’s like an extendable hand
This project is gorgeous!
I have a question regarding the arm shell - how did you learn to model complex forms like that?
Damn it choom, you solved all my problems
WOW....very cool 🤘🤘
First time here and I'm blown away from your engineering (okay, they are forearm cuffs, Not world changing technology but, I'm still massively impressed)
So, I'm definitely "In"
You sir, have a new subscriber 👍👍
Looking forward to going through your videos.
Take care.

Great work! Where can I learn more about pressure sensor? didn't get how exactly you trigger the servos with it
The pressure sensor is right below the wrist, so bending the wrist down will put pressure on the sensor. You can see him moving his wrists when he shows off the blades.
There are a lot of different pressure sensors, but the most common is some variety of resistive load cell. It just acts like a variable resistor, so it can be read by a microcontroller's built-in ADC pretty easily.
@@antonliakhovitch8306 thanks for detailed answer, I'll definitely try them out.
Well an idea would be to make one single system with two buttons or make a glove with button/s to press with your finger and thumb
impressive
That's preem work choom!
Arisaka dezze nuts!
thats sick
Next project idea - scanner from Death Stranding
the scavs gonna love this one
3:14 similar to late 15th early 16th century plate armor
now this. this is really cool
you could build the erebus smg too
Beautiful and dynamic work as always. I really love your focus on aesthetic polish and motion at the same time, really elevates it from just static prop.
Watching you test the motion, with how hesitant/jerky they were made me imagine they're trying to boop. So could you put an ultrasonic sensor at the tip sans blades (to be more nonthreatening), program it to sense proximity so it slows when it gets close til it softly bops a stranger's nose? Call it the auto booper.
Thank you! Motion is such a complicated aspect of projects like this, so I'm happy I pulled it off :)
Aesthetics aside, adding anything to the blades would add weight, and the issue is that the servos are already pushed quite far with such long and heavy levers.
Servos have some backlash and free play due to their imperfect gears - and that backlash gets magnified greatly with long levers. The way I "solved" the issue was to reduce the pacing of position-change commands sent to the motors in software. With some math-tricks I managed to "smooth out" the raw inputs from the sensors, and perform some rudimentary self-checks ("will this new angle make us move too fast?") before moving to the new position :) That helped reduce overcorrection jitter :)
Awesome build, what specific servos did you use? It looks like they’re able to put out a lot of torque, I haven’t found any strong enough!
I would literally pay top dollar for those, THEY ARE SO COOL!
I just found this channel I’m here to stay he is great stuff
Damn that works like a dream, well done man
You should make Johnny silver hands arm next please also make a better remake of it
Are you able to put the battery pack in some shoulder armour? Think that’d be pretty cool!
I NEED THESE IN MY LIFE WHETHER I HAVE TO MAKE OR BUY THEM
Bro's about to raid the Arasaka tower alone.
I mean it is possible to make, 30 years in the futures when cybernetics are good enough
You have to make the projectile launcher specifically Maines from the anime
Nice table lamps))))
