    An overview of a Gumotex Swing 1 inflatable kayak with a few simple tests on the water.
    Short and on point. I wanted to share some details about it with you.
    The price mentioned in the video was the price at the time of recording, it will most likely change over time.
    The kayak, like every other Gumotex boat, is made of Nitrilon, which is a blend of synthetic and natural rubber with reinforcement between the layers.
    I hope you'll enjoy the presentation.

    Coming back from Paddle Sport Show 2023. I can tell you that Gumotex presented the new Swing II and Swing I. The inflatable part will be black as Rush. The deck will be blue & white, a new color for Gumotex. The zip will be replaced by waterproof zip. They hope theses rework on Swing will be available for April 2024. Let's wait and see

      Thank you. I hope you enjoyed this year's show.
      I've been in contact with Gumotex for a short while now and apart from Seashine that was a bit of a surprise for me, I knew about the new Swing coming and all its upgrades. A bit of a bummer to see it retaining a foam/fabric footrest but this time it's side-mounted so I could use the one from Rush. I will be definitely upgrading. 👍
      Who knows, maybe I'll manage to go to Paddle Sports Show in 2024 as well. 😅

      Will the new Swing II include a drop stich floor ? Thank you

      @@laurentvenet2758 No,
      Only the news I mentioned above.
      The only models equiped with dropstitch floor (which isn't necessary a good thing) are Thaya, Rush 2 and the New Seashine, coming next Season ;)

      @@terkbro1087 thank you 🙏 my lack of knowledge make me mostly looking after drop stich floor kayaks. Shall I also widen my choice and look after after non drop stich floor kayak for beginning ? I don’t wanna buy multiple times :)

      @@laurentvenet2758 , Hey Laurent,
      No, the renewed Swing will have different hull and cockpit color, watertight zips, 2-point fixed footrest, and possibly a detachable seat. It will also include life lines. This is all I know about it so far but definitely no drop stitch - that would considerably raise its price.

    How hard is it to dry out with those zippers letting water in and deck being fixed? It feels like the water would get trapped inside a lot.

    • @LetsGoPaddling
      @LetsGoPaddling  หลายเดือนก่อน

      When the kayak is deflated, it's very easy to just peek inside through these zips and wipe everything with a cloth. Then leave it in the sun for 10 minutes so that the top of the deck can dry, that's it.

    Thanks for bringing this kayak closer. However, somehow the solutions used in these Gumotex do not appeal to me .... Regards :)

      Thank you for visiting.
      I see Swings as a bit more specialized kayaks. They are really great for mild white water and fast rivers. I'd love to take it to Dunajec one day. 😉

      They rock on the water (pun intended).
      Thank you again for sharing the WW bit - it really shows how capable Swings are. 😄

    I can't believe how rubbish that zip is keeping water out 😏

      It's just one of the "not so good" design choices but overall (apart from the footrest too) it's a great little boat. Does the job properly, which our German friends have shown. 😄

    Greate, i love this kayak, I noticed, sometimes it loses some air at the over-full valve, any advice?

    • @LetsGoPaddling
      @LetsGoPaddling  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It loses it when the pressure builds up too much. Then you might need to just reinflate it or there are guides on YT how to replace/get rid of the pressure relief valve.
      It might also start leaking some air if it gets dirty inside. Then it needs some maintenance. Check Steve Flusswanderer's channel. 😉

    Itiwit x500 or the gumotex swing .. what do you think 😅. 186cm and 94kg

    • @LetsGoPaddling
      @LetsGoPaddling  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hiya,
      It all depends on how you want to use it: would it be flat water or a faster flowing river with some mild rapids or a bit of white water?
      These 2 kayaks are so different that it's really difficult to compare them. The only true comparison would be materials and durability, and here any Gumotex wins with Itiwit.
      Currently, Itiwit x500 is facing some serious durability issues but the brand is working on a redesign in order to resolve these problems.
      At the same time, Gumotex are redesigning both Swings and soon a new Swing2 will be released on the market, with a new Swing1 to follow a bit later.
      I'd suggest waiting a bit. 😉

      I own a swing and could compare it to an x500 yesterday. Durability issue aside, the swing is a lot stable than the x500, especially while at rest or slow motion. I didn't fall in, but had to be careful. The x500 is faster and easier to accelerate.

    • @LetsGoPaddling
      @LetsGoPaddling  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My idea for overview videos like this one is to try to stay away from giving opinions (doesn't always work) so that a viewer can form their own. I prefer to show a set of basic maneuvers to present its performance. 😄
      I haven't tried AE. With me just renting a bedroom in a house here in the UK, it would be a massive problem to dry them properly (unless we're talking about Airvolution). 😉
      One more thing is that I bought all these kayaks so I'm also a bit short on space... 🙃

      @@LetsGoPaddling Yes, you would need a garden to air it out! I have just bought one but am fairly new to kayaking and there are very few good quality reviews out there. If you get a chance to get into one I think I would appreciate your review based on this one. Happy paddling friend!
