Hi Daniel, Yes I am still going through these pieces and it is a pleasure. In fact I have listened to this piece by you before but it is always worth a repeat. Well Done and Thanks Keep Safe and Keep Playing Clive
Daniel Estrem admiro sinceramente todo o seu magnifico trabalho. O Sr. mostrou como ninguém, através do violão e ukulele, a nova face da música de J.S. Bach.
Fantastic! I own several of your Bach ukulele and 8-string guitar recordings (which are amazing), so I'm thrilled to see you posting vids on youtube. Question...I think I saw you post in a reply, that you shoot these vids on an iPhone? Are you then mixing or adding reverb? If so, I'd love to know what software or mics you are using. The recordings sound amazing!
Thanks for the positive comments! I use either an Apogee USB mic that plugs into the iPhone or Neumann KM 184 or TLM 103 mics that go to a preamp and then to a digital Boss recorder. I bring the files into Logic on an iMac and fiddle around with reverb and EQ. I have a remote for the iPhone so I don't have to leave my chair for each take. I think on this prelude I used the Apogee mic.
Sorry, no..but if you tune your uke in 5ths and then get a book of Bach cello suites for mandolin by Daniel Sellman (Amazon) ----has both tabs and notation I'm reading notes, but tab would be easier
No, in fact the ukulele rarely is tuned like this. I've tuned it in 5ths, like a cello or violin so I can read off the score and play all the intended notes. I've had to create my set of strings from guitar and uke strings to get the proper gauges. Hopefully, some day a string company will have a special set for sale.
Hi Rachel! Yes there are 40 albums you can download from magnatune.com/artists/daniel_estrem/ if you have a membership, or you can get them from Amazon or iTunes, etc. best, Daniel
Oh that was stellar! Thank you for your beautiful playing!

The yuke is pretty versatile… Jake Shimabakuru (sp?) has performed creatively with it, too ☺️💕

Hey ! Do you have/sell tabs ? I'm so impressed and I would like to learn those pieces :)

Thank you! I have a mandolin and I'd love to learn some classical pieces.
Beautiful, Dan! Do you find that doing a vibrato on a note helps at all with the ukulele?
maybe in moderation.... it can be distracting if overused Thanks for listening!
Is this the usual ukulele tuning? (if there is such a thing)

Thanks for these quick replies. I really appreciate your work here and elsewhere.
@@danbluedeer Aquila sells sets of uke strings in fifths. Some people like to tune tenor ukes like tenor guitars (CGAE).
@@MarkHoemmen thanks for the heads up about these, i might just have to try them out

@@theocaratic let me know if you like them--I still haven't placed an order.

I'm using a tenor tuned in 5ths
