That plan failed a thousand years later during the Song Dynasty as Mongols managed to consolidate and unite the various tribes under Genghis Khan. After that, the Mongols again became weakened and many became vassals to Ming China. The next nomadic super power to to conquer China would be the Manchu Qing who would subsequently be sinicised.
