I listen to all kinds of music from Jazz to Alt-Rock, Classical to Disco, and of course Country. I grew up watching "Hee Haw" at one set of grandparents and "Lawrence Welk" at the other set of Grandparents. Although I have never really been a fan of "The White Stripes"/Jack White, I have always loved Loretta Lynn and I thank Jack White for this album. Wonderful music.
I'm moving back next year I came out at 18 been almost 10 years iv been back alot last few years decided I'm going back to tennessee but not telling anyone that I'm moving there just keeping it quiet
I'm from Appalachia mountains I moved to Indiana years ago people up hear just don't understand why I miss the mountains so bad stuffs in my blood generation after generation was born down there my family was the first settlers in tennessee when everyone moved from the old country couple hundred years ago people up hear don't understand why I miss my tennessee mountain home so bad they never will either
They don't understand because there aren't any mountains in Indiana. In the mountains it's possible to be alone in ways flatlanders never get acquainted with.
She's "high on a mountaintop... ain't comin' down, no, never I'm not" which is not a song about elevation above sea level. She's high on life or she's high on marijuana if you interpret it that way. The last line about lying on the ground and counting stars is something people would do under the influence. Either way, the world won't depress her and she cares what no one else thinks of her choice. It is a song of rebellion, independence, introspection of a rural and isolated often outcast people, and an embracing of mountain culture.
