Others can fill you in on the details but basically 'Life' is an emotional song sung here as a 'welcome back' to Tamu (drummer) returning to the band after her maternity leave. This is why Mayu is facing her when she sings.
It's a song that not only showcases the softer side of Nemophila but also the tight bond these incredible women share.
    Thanks for reacting to NEMOPHILA!

Sadly, the bond between the band and guitarist SAKI didn't endure, and she left around Easter this year. The rest of the band is very active, still making videos and gigging as a 4-piece, and SAKI has been working with various bands and musicians including Hana from Gacharic Spin.

So many layers to this song.. tribute to the drummer (that is why they are facing her) returning after becoming a mother... and mayu (lead singer) wrote this after being knocked back from an audition... and Hazuki's (guitarist) birthday.... just an amazing inside look at the bonds the girls have.. my fav group by FAR!!! Luv them!
Check out basically any of their 'official live' videos of any song and you will be blown away.. they also do a heap of AMAZING covers and just have a HEAP of fun doing them.

A very special song for the band and the fans.
Although they'd had the song for a while, this performance transformed its significance and made it a legend. The drummer, Tamu, had just returned from maternity leave, having her second baby. This was also the time when bands were facing uncertain futures due to Covid wrecking the tour and gig scenes.
The show was a streamed performance with no live audience. They faced Tamu for this song and sung it to her. The lyrics make reference to the potential of children and carry a message of optimism and encouragement. Hardly surprising that the welcome-back speeches combined with this song made the whole thing a very emotional episode. Tamu's tears can still be clearly seen near the end at the climax of the song.
'Life' still hits hard and Mayu, the vocalists, often has to battle her way through tears at live shows to get all the words out. She doesn't always quite manage it.
The backstage sequence with the cake was Hazuki's birthday (the guitar player who hangs her glasses on the mic stand).
Sadly, audio issues with the stream meant that they had to use the studio audio track with the stream footage for this video, but IMO it doesn't really lessen the significance or power of the experience.

FWIW, although you were disappointed not to be able to clearly see the musicians playing some of the more technical passages, any of their live shows or disks make it very clear that anything they play on studio tracks is a breeze for them to pull off live. All excellent players.
