    I own all the products you have. My daughter has fine wavy hair and the memory reactivator with the hold me softly styling balm worked wonders on her. I have more 3a hair and the souffle really worked well on me, but too much and it'll def weigh your hair down. Great video. Can't wait to see more

    So glad you always give an honest review, Curl Smith is expensive so it's nice to see if it's worth that extra money. 🙂✨

    Great review. When I was watching you apply these products I was gasping at the amounts applied. Your hair is short beautiful and fine in texture. Your strands only need a pea size amount for almost everything curl Smith. They are very very concentrated. When you add water to them in hand while keep hair saturated during application, it works well for fine hair types. Volume, moisture and definition. I look forward to seeing how you like them after more practice runs 😊

    • @LuisaLouis
      @LuisaLouis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much Rachelle!
      I agree with you, Curlsmith is super concentrated and works well when adding water to it. However I have very dry hair that does not retain the moisture throughout the day, therefore i need to apply a little more product than most fine wavy to curly girls in order to keep my hair well hydrated.
      But you are right, in this video, it was my 1st time using the multitasking leave-in and i did apply a too much 😆 Now that I am more familiar with the product, I prefer to apply a pea size on soaked hair.
      I will work on an update video soon 😉

    Yes please, Luisa, if you could do a vid on the Serum! My hair's almost the dead same as yours, and I've been thinking about buying this! xxoo. I've found the orange moisture line I can't really use, except for the Moisture Memory stuff... I've just found it's way too heavy for my hair. I do like the Purple Strength line though, given it's the line with protein in it. You might need protein in your hair like I do... but then again I imagine you know your hair better than I do! xxxoo. Oh, and BTW, the purple line is a new line, maybe added in the last 6 months or so I guess. I've tried the blue line too, and that's really good too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Weightless Airdry Cream and the Hydro Style Flexi Jelly!

    I always use the CurlSmith protein gel with the soufflé. My hair looks to be similar to yours. Low density, high porosity and fine. Generally a small amount of both works well and I use the memory reactivating as a refresh.

    Great video! I do love Curlsmith but the Orange line is way too heavy for my fine hair. I prefer the "scalp line" even though I don't have scalp issues. It seems to be lightweight and moisturizing. Good luck finding your sweet spot.

      What do you use in lieu of CurlSmith? If I use too much, I’ll definitely weigh my hair down. I really love the protein multi use from CurlSmith because I can rinse it off.

      @@dennissems I've been testing the Ouai curl creme and the Mizani true textures styling lotion (separately, not together). I like them both, but I'm still looking for that perfect combination of products because neither one alone is enough.

    You might enjoy their Hydro flexi jelly. It's almost like the bioterra but more hydrating. They also have the shape up jelly that has protien. They are a lighter hold but also not as heavy as the souffle.

      @LuisaLouis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The purple line is new. It's their protein line. Also I love the souffle but I have to use it on wet hair or use such a small amount and water it down. The crunch is definitely there which I like for 1st day. Wish their products where a little more affordable but I really enjoy the ones I have used.

  • @ashkeniasims1840
    @ashkeniasims1840 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love curlsmith & their products BUT I don’t like the multi conditioner as a leave in only as a deep conditioner- I have medium density, medium strand 3c/4a hair & even on my hair it weights it down. The intense serum I use it the night before my wash day as a treatment (prepoo). I love the spray curl activator. What I would recommend for u is either the hold me soft (from the moisture line) as ur leave in & as a styler. If u need a light weight leave in you can try the weightless leave in (from the scalp recipe) or u can try the purple line which I think is the strength line (minus the multitask conditioner) I love their bonding salve as well as their bonding oil .
    Love your hair & the color!

  • @dennissems
    @dennissems 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I use that gel as a style in the shower and go when I’m in a rush. I love this one when I’m on vacation. I don’t use a lot thought because it does weigh my hair down. 😍😍😍
    I also love the multi use protein one. I use it as a conditioner and rinse it off most of them time because it does feel a little heavy. I also use it as a hair mask once I do my moisture mask once a week or every other week. I love the results and I have found that I haven’t used Olaplex as much since doing this. I know my hair doesn’t have high lights and I did the big chop to get rid of all my chemically treated hair.
    Have you tried the Dove gel( it’s new). I can’t think of the name. I love that gel. It’s kind of like Ouidad Climate Control. It’s light weight and holds a curl for a couple of days. It does reactivate with water. The only thing I don’t like it’s the scent. It’s kind of a flowery vanilla scent. Not fond of it, but I can get past it because it leaves my hair extremely bouncy and defined without weighing it down and making it producty feeling.

    Thank you for posting, I didn’t understand how concentrated these products are before buying and realize I need a tiny tiny pea size amount of gel and soaking wet hair. I have fine, high porosity wavy hair. Short length. And probably I need to avoid the moisture balm completely because I just get greasy build up. their shampoos are really bad at removing build up 😭 I’m really disappointed by curlsmith for the price. In the meantime I’m going to try to make it work. It says it’s good for fine hair and their shampoo says it’s clarifying 😭😭

  • @colleencathrae6523
    @colleencathrae6523 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So interesting as my fine wavy to curly hair loves the multitasking conditioner and just eats it up. But I agree the souffle doesn't work for me.
    I think if your hair gets weighed down you would like a few other combinations: 1) the memory reactivator + the aqua gel, 2) weightless air-dry leave in + aqua gel, or 3) the multitasking conditioner + hydro-flexi jelly. Just trying to use a protein product due to fine highlighted hair and a moisture one. Mine likes all the protein and can use a whole line up containing protein. Still haven't found the perfect curlsmith combo as the gels do not work best for me, I would say best effort was with the Flexi jelly. Good luck

    Dear, I'm low porosity coarse hair girl here and that souffle is too heavy for me! I used the tiniest bit I could ever use and I just couldn't make it work for me. Such a shame, this product was so hyped. I think I did a mistake, after ordering a full jar I noticed they actually have a travel-size bottle of that souffle in a squeeze bottle! Which would be so much easier to use, oh well. I did like the multi-tasking conditioner tho as a leave-in, but I can see how it could be heavy for you. Maybe the best would be to use it only as a deep conditioner or just wash off conditioner?
    Also, I absolutely loved their make-up masks - they are not heavy, amazing, super stronghold, and come on so much fun to change colour without any commitments. I think that gel would work really great on your fine hair, will give you extra volume and good hold, also how fun it would be to see your hair in another colour!

    • @LuisaLouis
      @LuisaLouis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      OMG! i forgot about their colored gel! that could be fun for halloween too!!!
      I am loving the 3in1 condish as a leave-in! i've been using it this week and my curls came out so juicy and kept the moisture all day!
      I can see how the souffle would be way too heavy on your low porosity hair. Thanks for sharing Swavy Blonde 😘

    Thank you for the review! I'm one of those fine haired, medium density, wavy/curly (2B-3A) with medium/high porosity hair people who loves the Curlsmith BUT as you said it's pricy and my budget doesn't like that. Sadly, I have yet to find anything of a lesser price that performs as well for me. I alternate between the multi-tasking conditioner, and the hydro creme soothing mask as a conditioner each wash-day. I use the Weightless Air Dry Creme (pea-sized amount) as a leave-in, the featherlight protein cream a a curl cream (roughly a US quarter sized amount) and the hydro flexi jelly for the most reliable and long-lasting results. I still have to wash my hair every 3 days. I love the smell of their re-fresh spray but I find using a small amount of the weightless airdry crème mixed with water and glazed over my hair more effective at reducing 2nd and 3rd day frizz than the refresh spray. I've tried the soufflé and I love how shiny the soufflé makes my hair as well as how strong the hold is, but it really is too heavy for my hair.

    Thank you for the review. I personally have found that my hair does better with the soufflé in the dryer months.
    What I have found as a nice consistent pairing are a bit of their Protein cream and the Weightless Air Dry cream (purple tube and blue tube). In the summer, the protein line gel (purple label) to glaze and scrunch in.
    They are pricier, so I Cri Ugh the them out each season to see what my hair responded to.

    I completely agree about the conditioner! I find it terribly expensive and went through one container in about 3 weeks because I have low-porosity fine hair. Sadly, I have to use a huge amount to even detangle my hair and then it weighs it down with the oil. So it's a no-go for me. I tried it as a leave-in and it was even worse. For me, the price point on these products is simply too high.

      @@LuisaLouis don't think of it that way.... your hair in 2019 was not how it is today, so remember that products that might not work then says nothing about how it might work today. You also say you have high porosity hair and fine hair so remember: use less product, especially of such concentrated products and make sure to include a protein in your styler instead of a moisturizing one. Also, styling with soaking wet hair works a lot better with high porosity hair 😊 good luck finding what works for you!
