@@hypercoffein856 let's change the word 'too many' to 'huge mistake'. calculation Light yagami is really bad in the beginning of the story. and the huge mistake what i was talking about is how Light kill fake 'L' (i forgot which eps, but he killed the person on the television that he thought it was real L) and L is really easy to engage Light's emotion. don't get me wrong, this is already checkmate for him. if we compare to kiyotaka, he won't be like that, as we can see most of his habit are just silent, but everytime he start his action, the situation suddenly changed and goes to his side. sorry for bad grammar ;(
@@arlynnfolke it wasn't a mistake. It's more like L's feat. No one (in Light position) would have anticipated that someone has deduced his killing method. And therefore Light wouldn't have thought that they would put a fake L on tv.
@@arlynnfolke I don't think that's a mistake still. on Light's pov, there's no way L would know about his killing method and therefore restrict the broadcast coverage. also, I don't think you can really check it for such a short amount of time, Light was intended to kill him live to convey the message "anyone dares to confront him will have the same result".
The majority of the mistakes, are due to him having to carry idiots on his own. The mistakes were also mainly in the beginning of the show, towards the end the so called "mistakes" was actually just a plan.

Light gets absolutely emotionless thinking. Even though L was suspicious of him and set traps for himself, he easily solved all of them except one. But we can't say anything about emotional thinking because all but a few characters in the anime made rational decisions. He already manipulated some of those emotional thinkers very easily. Light's only problem was his ego.(At least his ego that emerged after Near arrived) If it weren't for him, a lot would change.
Well.. no. Light has instances of performing well under pressure, but he also has instances of performing terribly under pressure. Case and Point, Lind L. Tailor, possibly Light's biggest mistake in the series. If he didn't kill him, chances are, L would've never even pinpointed Light's location, let alone caught him. Ayanokoji would not have done that. Even if you want to say Light performs well under pressure more often than he doesn't, Ayanokoji hasn't slipped even once, so it's incomparable
