+Nathalie Smith I heard you can put a paper towel over it and run your iron over it so the wax melts and the paper towel absorbs it. Do this repeatedly with a new paper towel each time until all the wax is gone. Hope this helps!

Turmeric. Most difficult yellow stain which turns to red after contact with baking soda( practically everything soapy). Indians used turmeric on regular basis on all food preparations. You should make a video on this.

I had an ink stain on my sweater from a broken ballpoint pen. Just soak in milk for 15 minutes or so, immediately rinse out and wash like you normally would. The milk will have turned light blue by then. Don't drink it anymore ;) The stain had been a few days old as well, just don't wash it first because it will set.

I've never had carpet in my house, only rugs that I could take the porch, scrub away and dry for two to three days. As soon as I moved to the US I had to deal with a coffee stain on a carpet, and the cloth and iron trick worked perfectly, I also used paper towel repeatedly, applied baking soda in order to soak up as much of that coffee as possible because the carpet is pretty fluffy and thick, and the baking soda helped lift the liquid to the top before doing the iron trick.

Use a blacklight in a darkened room to check and see if you got all of the pet stains/bodily fluid stains up. They will light up. This is also great for cleaning up stains on cabinets that you can't see.

Hey Melissa, Try a product called Power Out made by Turtle Wax. You find it in the car care isle. It gets out literally Everything. I use it on pet and grass stains. I even used it to get out a 5 yr old rust stain in my car. The stain came out and not a trace of it left behind.

We have a three stains on our carpet. I watched this in hopes of finding the fix! One is a blood stain, one is nail polish (but it's a kid nail polish, hoping that comes out?) and the worst is blue ball point pen... a lot. Our son thought he'd get creative there...
Side note: since watching your channel I use microfiber cloths to clean most things in my home (except toilets... i just can't). But since the cloths always say wash on cold, or lukewarm I do worry a bit about how clean and/or sanitzed the cloths get. Ours aren't color coded and I use general blue cloths from home depot for all tasks. (hoping to buy amazing Maker cloths soon...but we are a family of 6 and I go through a lot of cloths!)
I mean what if I use a cloth on the bathroom one day and later on the kitchen counter... Which also brings me to what about washable mop heads and steam cleaner cloths? After I mop, even with a steam mop the cloth pad is so filthy and it really makes me want to wash it on sanitize cycle. (I tried that and it shrunk though).
please tell me again why I don't need to wash microfiber on hot...? It's hard for me to relax about this.

The worst stain was cat urine. I had to soak the carpet with different products I was trying, and baking soda, then vacuum the carpet with a shop vac. I ended up cutting out a piece of carpet, but luckily it was in a corner near the doorway that, once cleaned, dried, and painted, looks just fine as a shoe or boot drop. I moved the cat litter area to another location. A large tupperware storage container now serves as the cat's litterbox bc she does not aim well and the higher sides prevent her urine from soaking the area around the litter box. I learned a lot, and today that litterbox is tended to every day, and washed out on weekends. Lots of work I never planned on.😮

The most difficult stain we deal with is cat vomit. It's chunky, stinky, and the dyes in the cat food stain light colored carpet really quickly. Would love to know how you would tackle such a job! We have older kitties with really sensitive tummies, so lots of barf going on at our house!

    • @debbievickerman9432
      @debbievickerman9432 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I have a spray bottle filled with vinegar and baking soda mix. Before putting it into the bottle I mix it with some hot water so it mixes well. Using a paper towel blot up the vomit as soon as you find it and spray the area with the vinegar and b.s. solution. Mark the area with a cloth over it, so you won't forget to come back and blot it up agsin once it soaks awhile. Give the spot a lot of patting and gentle rubbing after it soaks. Then lay a new clean rag over and step on it or place something heavy so it soaks up the water from the carpet. Let dry.

I'm 18 now, but when I was little, I was horrible for spilling things. Over 10 years ago I spilt beans on our family room carpet, the stain is still there. I also spilt nail polish on my bedroom carpet that we never got out. Luckily, my parents have decided to switch to hardwood and laminate flooring. Oh, and I've gotten better at not spilling things.

A easy tip I use. Since we have a cat, and with cats you get hairballs. We leave it to dry (instead of trying to get it up immediately). By doing this, it comes up very easy and does not leave a stain. You just pick up the mess and vacuum up the rest. It is unsightly while it is drying, but it is the easiest and painless way to take care of the mess.

Great video! I have a question I hope you can help me with. I had a carpet stain and used a product called Folex to remove it. Well, I must have used to much because afterwards I have a much bigger stain where I used it. What can I do now to remove the stain that appeared after using the carpet stain remover? The initial stain is gone, I am just left with the larger stain where I applied the Folex.

Nope, nothing gets away the certain chemical protein bonds that blood has, and certain identifiers that are specific can never be destroyed! Also, you'd have to consider changing the plumbing from shower tray down (plus any tiles and beneath all tiles, grouting, and beneath baths and shower trays!!), in addition to the inside of all the pipes, including the local main waste and sewarage lines for a good few miles! This also includes all the way round and beneath the first layer if a ceramic one, and including the soil for about a good football pitch length outwards on all directions and the same distance (and then down to the base rock level in addition, which could be for kilometres or many tens, hundreds, or more of miles!), plus everything above the soil in question being 100% destroyed to minimise any sign. So yeah, things can be more complex than imagined, not to mention there will be additional factors such as personal interactions with missing person, cell traces etc etc. Not to mention, if you think the harsher the chemical will be more beneficial to your clean up effort, you can even create a 'blood rust' stain due to the chemicals, or create toxic fumes that could be fatal and/or explosive for yourself depending how long the blood has been sitting there for/not been kept 'alive'. My morbid curiosity since I was a teen has paid off in regards to providing you with an informative comment response. Therefore it has not been time wasted!
However, I do wish that she prefaced the blood clean up thing by saying something like 'get yourself and/or the relevant person to safety as soon as possible, then seek medical advice, or call for medical assistance such as emergency services. If someone has caused an injury to you (even if you think they might have done it unintentionally!), and whether they respond in the fastest way and most appropriate way to get you medical assistance. No one should touch you, say or do things that make you feel less than your best on a regular basis, or cause you injury (regardless if you bruise, bleed, how much, or if it is visible). That is not ok. You deserve better than that. You are worth more than that. Maybe talking with [insert link or helplne here] might help you see that, so please do that when it is possible and preferably most safe for you to do so'... You know, the more youtubers and the more varied topics it get discussed on, the more people will see it and will know that it isn't ok and that if a person is a perpetrator they can seek help, if they know someone or are that someone they can seek help. You know, small things.

If you pour white wine over a red wine stain it will neutralize the colour and then you just have to blot out the clear liquid left behind. It works well when the stain just happens. The only thing left to deal with is the smell of wine. Don't believe it? Try it on a white cloth and see what happens. It's a good magic trick too 😊

I have never had to use hydrogen peroxide with soap to get rid of blood stains. I just use the H2O2 and blot (my mother is a phlebotomist/bacteriologist and this is what she taught me from a young age.) Also with the wine stain you can pour salt on it to soak up the rest of it including anything that may have gone deeper.

Bulletproof coffee: coconut oil & butter in coffee. It was my birthday and my hubby said he'd clean it up for me, esp since I was running late, but I don't know what he tried. Needless to say, it's still there. 😣

    QUESTION!!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!
Last week I did a load of laundry & by the time I got to the dry stuff in thr dryer, I noticed a smell. My washer is a top load and the dryer is a front load. (I have Multiple sclerosis & sometimes by the time things are dry, I cannot get to unload.)
The dryer, however, has a top pull thing to pull out and remove lint from. Both appliances are electric only.
I noticed that the top of the dryer was wet. My cat had obviously peed on the top and some went into the lint trap! I immediately took the lint trap out and cleaned the trap out. I could smell on the trap itself, that the cat pee had gone into the area around the trap. I soaked the trap itself in a mixture of white vinegar & stuff called "Odor Ban." Then I let it dry fully! I wet a rag with the same solution and ran it down the area where the trap goes qs far as I could.
I let every thing dry at least 48 hours.
I rewashed everything in the dryer and when I noticed no "odd cat pee smell" I put it back in the dryer. While the room didn't smell immediately, as soon as it was dry qnd I opened it to fold the towels, the smell was back!!!! UGH!!!
I have since covered the entire dryer top with Reynolds Wrap and now it is impossible for him to get to the lint trap to pee (if he does, it is easily cleaned up & can't go into the trap!)!!
Do you hqve any suggestions on how to get this odor out of the dryer??

As a person who worked for a huge carpet cleaning company in London as a sales person, let me break it to you - it is NOT coming off... Sorry if that makes you sad but you have 0 chance against it. Even if you see methods online for cleaning motor oil, they may work if it is small droplet but I would not even try...

I have had to clean a red wine stain on my off-white cashmere sweater and there is no trace of it after trying with white wine! Same goes for our synthetic high pile ivory carpets. After trying the club soda method, the stain did not come off. Like, no result at all. :( The next time I tried with cheap white wine (that I use for cooking) and there is no trace! Maybe it depends on the carpets...
As a sales person who has worked for a huge cleaning company in London, I will advise you simply - not to touch any stain if you have an expensive or delicate carpet/rug. You WILL make it worse and you WILL seal the stain within the fibres. Get a pro to do it no matter how expensive it is. Even soap can ruin your fabric or dyes in your carpet/rug. And forget about stuff like Vanish - they always makes it way worse.
As a person who inherited a flat with dirty carpets from previous tenants, I will tell you to professionally clean them every 6 months to a year. Most people have no clue that 8L of water will be PITCH BLACK after having their bedrooms done. And no, steamers will never clean your carpets properly! Hot-water extraction is the method you need.
