A supergroup in the true sense, excellent choice. I remember this track having loads of radio play, for some reason it failed to crack the top forty in Britain. Fun fact. This was the theme music for the pilot episode of New Tricks and performed by Dennis Waterman. So he didn't get to write the feem choon, but did get to sing the feem choon.
Kinda sad to know that only 2 of them now remain: Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne. I saw Tom Petty live once, only live concert I've ever been to, but it's one I'll never forget.
So nice of you to sing happy birthday to Phillip Lilly. Class act. Good song from a talented super group. Sad to see you are not up to par yet Steve. Good reaction. Both of you enjoy your day.......................................................................................................list " Lean on me" Philippines or "Stand by me" Al Ain.... by Music Travel Love
Another great song , hope you show Lilly Handle with care, Roy Orbison is as usual fantastic, what a voice. Love that you showed Lilly In Dreams , my favourite Roy song , maybe play her Crying, no one does sad songs like Roy.🎉
@@Lilly8Listens many thanks for the link, I just love how the song lulls you into thinking it's a sweet song about a guy dreaming happy times with his love of his life and then it becomes tragic when he wakes and finds she's gone and has left him, that special falsetto voice Roy has always gets me every time.
An all time fav with these famous musicians!!!!! Tom Petty" Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers" , Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison "RIP", George Harrison" The Beatles", Jeff Lynne" ELO". Roy Orbison actually sang on this tune before he passed away and during his vocal lead the video shows the rocking chair with Roy's guitar. Tom Petty and George Harrison have also passed away now.....Sad because this was a superb collaboration of super stars.....This song was mainly written by George Harrison...I like Lilly's great response to this tune "movin' and groovin'". Kudos. Btw the drummer was Jim Keltner "an associate of Bob Dylan". The song was released 1989.
@@Lilly8ListensNo, Roy actually sang this in studio with the band, the video was released after Roy passed showing a rocker and Roy's picture " they don't focus on any singer during the part Roy actually sang and at the end of Roy's part they show Jeff but he was doing backup vocal" . So sad 3 members have passed now, and I agree, all to early! BTW Lilly was very smart in asking about the song completion without Roy. Quick wit she has!
A bus? Musicians of this calibre travel by train or tram, not stinky smelly buses! Lilly was playing notes on her air guitar, not chords - her skills are developing at an incredible pace! The Travelling Wilburys was a band of legends - The Big O Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan one of the most gifted lyricists ever, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and George Harrison - a Beatle! And they all adopted pseudo names for the band, Nelson Wilbury, Clayton Wilbury, Otis Wilbury, etc, pretending to be related in some way. Their first album was Vol 1, their second album was Vol 3, named deliberately just to confuse people. Lilly singing happy birthday to your subscriber was a nice touch - she clearly has a heart of gold in addition to her quick wit and charismatic quirkiness!
Some of my favourite artists on here got many Tom Petty albums and Geoff Lynn who's more famously with Electric Light Orchestra. Baker st Gerry Rafferty Steve ?
I deliberately showed Lilly Roy Orbison before we looked at The Travelling Wilburys, but unfortunately TH-cam weren't having any of it. drive.google.com/file/d/1A1bpiziBTHZ0V3rgn6SBP_jnoaqsA7Ra/view?usp=sharing
Love this song. Get Lilly check out George Harrison "Got my mind set on you" official Video version 2 is better. Very Funny video . I didn't know there was 2 versions, still same song different video.
Thank you Lilly, and an added blessing was my niece gave birth to her first child on my birthday
Lilly is so sweet and has such personality. Love you guys! ❤
Thank You.
Jeff was in the Move early 70s ELO and produced some beatles music, great work Steve Lilly
Is there anything in this world more charming than a little English girl? I think not.

I imagine that when they asked him what he thought of it as a theme tune he said"It's alright, it's ok, doesn't really matter if you're old and grey"

Great track, shame only Jeff and Bob left now, truly a super group.
You see Lilly, the song was recorded before he died, but the video was not filmed yet
Good reaction. A serious amount of talent in that group.
What a sweet little girl.
Thank you MM.

Yes, did they get Jeff Lynne to mime to Roy's vocals? And the three that have passed on, all went to early.

So much talent together. Great reaction. You have a new subscriber 🙂👍
Thanks Mick.
Classic track 👣

I don't know this, amazingly. But I do remember where I was the day that Roy Orbison died.
Well I didn't know that, Steve. I've learned something today I didn't know.
You'll have to show Lilly the instrumental by Dave Stewart and Candy Dulfer bearing her name. I think she'd enjoy that classic tune.
Team Grandad says
Well done Lily, keeping Grandad grounded. Owld n gray
I'm just gray n owld 😮 shocker
Nice choice ..
Tom Petty was probably my favourite singer
"Here Comes My Girl" is a good one of his ..
There's an interesting story of how Jeff Lynne came up with the name for their group.
I’m reviewing the video again Lilly, I love you and your Grandpa
Thanks Philip.
I think, Steve, maybe you were been thinking of Geoff Lynne being in ELO rather than The Move?
No David, he definitely did join The Move, but obviously he's better known for being part of ELO
Roy Orbison’s empty chair. 🥹
Song title related to their name! - Clever Lilly.
Roy Orbison is who you're missing.

George Harrison - Got My Mind Set On You (Version II) , I think your like the humour of this video
