- Man City's Chloe Kelly was carried off after clashing knees with Rebecca Holloway in winning a penalty - with Hannah Hampton then saving Caroline Weir's kick. Her brilliant afternoon work of which she scored 2 goals was ended abruptly when a concerning injury forced her off after lengthy treatment.
It now been established that Manchester City striker Chloe Kelly is facing a lengthy spell out of action after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament #ACL injury against Birmingham.
The 23-year-old, who had scored twice in the game, was injured in a clash of knees that saw City awarded a penalty in the 4-0 victory on Sunday.
Kelly joined City from Everton in July 2020 and scored 10 league goals this season, as well as assisting 11.
The club have not said how long the England international could be out for.

The problem with football/soccer is that when someone really does get hurt you can never tell because of the countless times before that or people flail and scream and pound the ground as if they’re dying
It’s a big element of football tactics, if you can get a penalty and/or get a player sent off just for faking an injury then of course you will

what do you mean by “sent off”? I mean you can simply substitute someone, you don’t need to fake an injury for that, but yes most of them fake it to get penalties, which in my opinion is wrong and cheating

Incredible comeback story. To fully recover inside 12 months and then get fit enough to play at top level and then come on a sub and score the winner in extra time for your Country in the final. Truth is so much stranger than fiction.

0:50 you can feasibly see her tibia rotating and it went jerk due to knee collision and her femur and upper body was on the opposite direction in conclusion it's a ACL injury can't make out the grade but seems like it.

Looks like a jarring of the knee but the commentors thought it was knock on the knee...we will not know for sure till all the tests are done. She was in pain.....yes, get well soon.
Having suffered a dislocated patella I know knocks around the knee are exceptionally painful. Gws Chloe!

I think it’s because Kelly had the ball and the other player hit her slightly (it might not have been intentional) with her arm as they collided and Kelly got injured. I’m not sure tho

It was funny that right when the announcers were saying how its hard not just for the team mates to see her hurt but the opponents as well then you see the other team smiling & laughing.
