I wish I had seen this when I first started out building. All I knew was the hollow horn method and it was extremely frustrating. Needless to say, all of my horns turned out less than incredible and I very nearly quit because of it. Your HD foam and foam clay are the best, Steve. Thanks for sharing with us!
Love how you share the patterns and techniques in these videos, Steve! Inspiring and encouraging the community is a brilliant marketing technique, and I applaud you!
I've been wanting to add interchangeable horns to my fursuit as just a nice little detail, this video will definitely come in handy. Thanks very much for the work that you do.
Dude that's insanely good. You're such an inspiration to so many. Thank you for the free templates. I'm now building some Starship Troopers armor. Your tutelage is very much appreciated.
I am working on a Warhammer 40k (Viking Style) Weapon Loadout (i use diffrent Brands of Dartblaster for it)and if i have finished this Project i will do my first steps into Foamsmithing 😱😱😱Because your Tutorials are great and i use many of your techiques to achieve my Goal 😊😊😊!You are my biggest inspiration in this Hobby 😁🙈🙈
Great video and explanation! I have some questions for the community and/or the channel: I want to do horns for an orc cosplay and stick them directly onto my forehead. I was thinking about covering the edges with Latex or wax "skin". The main thing I wonder about is, how do I glue the horns on my skin? Will something like Mastix (spirit gum) work? I know it works for latex applications, but for EVA foam too? I also plan to prime them with Mod Podge before colouring. Do I also prime the base that will be glued to my skin? Thanks in advance!
Foam or foam clay horns work fine and yes spirit gum will work. I don't know that I would prime the bottom because the porous foam might grip the gum better. I actually did a video on that a few years ago th-cam.com/video/X7zHTzt61-A/w-d-xo.html
Love the orc and the tips and patterns ... but that orc ❤ Goblins, orcs, trolls, witches, wizards and ent-man cross. If anyone has any suggestions on channels for tutorials or inspiration videos that don't use latex casting please list them 😊 ty. TH-cam daddy deletes links.
Hey awesome video! Two questions for ya. Would you say the aluminum foil method is the most durable of these three techniques? Also are you just glueing these to the mask/helmet or is there a stronger way to make that connection?
Depends on the length of the horns and the application. I used the glue together method on my dragon bust and those are huge. Most of my horns are glued directly to the mask, helmet, head. Using contact cement that’s not an issue. But some times I want them detachable for travel like my krampus mask or deer skull. Lots of options just depends on the project

Can you paint those foam horns (with clay) directly?
@@steffi4281 you could but I’d still recommend some kind of sealer like mod podge, flexbond, or Plasti dip
What if I only have one thickness of foam
Layer it up
can you make the freddy fazbear costume real size please :)
go check out my friend Much props he already made the head
