@lbj2277 i got my grandmothers 20-30 year old one after she passed last year. It holds so many memories. It made all my favorite foods she made, and it is incredibly simple to repair. It outlived my grandma and will most likely outlive me :)
We ordered them from amazon. You can find this specific gear here - amzn.to/3FOYFHh but make sure to look up the exact piece you need for your machine.
Hello! I want to know where do you buy the replacement part? Because the hinge that is on the back of the stand mixer it is cracked and very loose so I want to change! But the official service said me that they have to take the mixer an make a diagnostic of it. I think it is not necessary! And I only want to by the part
We bought our parts on amazon. You'll first need to look up the part numbers for your specific machine and then google where to buy it. Not all parts are available on amazon but it's handy when they are. We've had good luck ordering from www.repairclinic.com as well. They then to be a bit more expensive but sometimes it's all thats available. Good luck!
The original KitchenAid gear you replaced here, is partly plastic and has a small hole in it for a small pin..the iron ones I've seen online (as used in this video) havent...but seems more strong obviously. Meaning the pin isn't necessary as long as the gear model is the same and hold in place with the snapring?
Sometimes a plastic gear might be designed that way. Because if too big of a loadis created it will damage that particulargear and not others or other parts downstream. So not allways is a metal part better
Amazing how you fixed it, I know some people would just throw the old one out and get another even if it costs a lot of money
Totally! I couldn’t afford a new one so I had to try to fix it 😂
Unfortunately, that's the consumerist society we live in. KitchenAids can be passed down through generations with just a bit of care and maintenance.

In my experience too much grease can cause things to work harder. Lot of times it's better to find the sweet spot so the motor doesn't work so hard
Can you post the link to where you bought the parts? I have the exact same issue and I am hoping to repair it this way.
You can buy the gear here - amzn.to/3FOYFHh
Good to save it i work at whirlpool on one of many assembly lines building them
👍
Maybe you can answer? Is this gear part the same as the ones in the mini model?
@@AlongForItAllкажется шестерни быстро стираются и где его купить у нас бешаннве деньги стоют надо заказывать с США
Can you use crisco to lubricate the gears? It’s good safe and was initially created to lubricate heavy machinery at high temps…just curious.
Not sure. I just try to replace it with a recommended grease.
Where did you order the parts from??

I have a tilt head kitchenaid and the locking mechanism no longer works. Or it stays in the lock position. Any advice?
How do you remove the bottom gear attached to the shaft??? I removed the pin but the gear is not sliding out!!! Please help
Please ! Where can I get this part , it was exactly what happened with mine ? 😢

How does it sound? We have no idea how it's supposed to sound but suspect ours is unreasonably loud.
Depends on the type of machine but it should sound consistent without any slipping in the gears.

My KitchenAid its the same and The planitary has come down 😢 help
Food grade grease? You aren’t putting the motor in your food.
An appliance you can actually repair… the government better do something about this.
😄
I know you didn't just use a vernier caliper to put that ring back on😂
🤫
Grinded the metal out, must be very old
depends what you are making. Bread dough is really tough on the gears.
I don’t have the confidence to fix my 2 machines. God forbid if my 2 mixers were to go out on me.
Hopefully this video does! It’s not too difficult.
My mixers are fine but I’m just saying this just in case. I like to stay on top of things.
True. It’s terrible when it goes out.
Hola le hice mantenimiento a una y cuando se le colocó el bol y el globo se balancea mucho
For Russian hey use plastic gear
Bruh, the grease was black, because all the metal was in it! After 1 year this grease will be as black…
Bruh maybe but you can actually buy black grease. amzn.to/3KATHAW
This is a useless uninformative video. Waste of time
This wasn't made to be a tutorial
