I remember seeing many Coronet films like this in grade school. I'd say this one was intended for viewing by 4th or 5th graders, to supplement social studies or world history lessons. I wonder what the copyright date is -- before or after Mao took over?
It will be before Mao because the script is sympathetic towards China. The US, as was many other countries, was in China for imperialist ambitions and exploitation before Mao took over and kicked the interfering foreigners out. So US films after Mao's China has a totally different flavour to this one.
