"She has nothing else to grasp onto to stay sane" Oh boy it's about to get more crazy. No words to describe how phenomenal Sophie was this ep, give her the Emmy!
I can't begin to imagine how Melanie must've felt watching this scene. I mean given that she plays the older version of Shauna, it's just... hard to put into words.
They coiuld have skipped the dream sequence and adjust this scene a bit, and we would have understood that she was dreaming while being passed out. I wished that would have been that way... :(
@@bowi1332 yeah but then we wouldn't have gotten as much of the painful dialoge that we got... like the scene where she talks to her baby about his future and saying "its you and me against the world" and when she said she loved him despite not wanting him at first. I feel like it made the situation feel more personal and us more emotionally connected to what happened
The girls really came together on this episode and you could tell how impactful this was. I do hope afterwards that they all got a little mental palette cleanser as I’m sure that wasn’t easy
I really like how the story layers the experiences of trauma in a way you can see them loose their innocence and how much it is that learning the cruelty of humanity and our existence can be so limited within a lifetime. I try to practice compassion and it’s the hardest for oneself to do.
Losing her baby, seeing the other Yellowjackets seemingly moved on from it and Shauna throwing hands at Misty and Lottie. Sophie Nélisse is going to show a new side of Shauna that we likely only seen from Melanie Lynskey so far🐝⚽️🛩️👊🏻
i watch every episode twice. once when it drops at midnight and then later that weekend i rewatch w/ my mom. this was the first episode i was like 'i don't know if i can watch this again.' one of the most painful episodes of tv i've ever watched. in the best way. the scene where Sophie first nurses the baby and says she can't wait to see what he will become and it's them against the world. and then ofc the final scene 'why can't you hear him crying?!' were absolutely incredible. give Sophie N all the awards for this episode!!!
Cruel, kinda. Too long and useless, I think. They could have skipped the dream sequence and only have Shauna scream about the baby breastfeeding and crying "earlier". It's 2023; the audience is smart, we can imagine stuff for ourself without writers filling episodes with dream sequences. We would have guessed she had a dream while being passed out.
@@bowi1332 The dream stuff kinda pisses me off. Not when it's obvious that they're working stuff out in the subconscious like the lunch scene at the mall...but this was unnecessary. But it is a story about trauma. So I guess they have to sucker punch us as much as possible to make that clear.
Aslo this episode got me emotional like the actress was so good at emotional scenes especially since she had wear eye contacts which I know must’ve been hard to cry cuz lenses are thick idk how she manage to do it but wow her performance was just phenomenal all these actors are amazing ❤❤
I feel so sorry for Shauna. Even though she didn't really want the baby she was so lovely in her dream and when she was finally able to nurse it was such a beautiful moment. But well, that was it, just a dream... I totally understand her going nuts :(

Great performers, great directors, great crew... Sadly, the direction of the show is weird... At the end of S2E06, I thought to myself: "This show could have been a movie."... It could have been a miniseries too... I'm conflicted... I don't know whether it's a pacing problem, or a lack of action, but I just feel like nothing is happening between Episode 1 and the final... I don't care that the final will be epic if everything that led to it was lame. In fact, I unsubscribed to Crave today... EDIT: I left many replies to older comments from other viewers... I explained a bit more my thoughts.
Just sounds like you want instant gratification with no lead up, and that’s not how writing that is worth its salt goes. No this couldn’t have been a miniseries cause the whole thing would be crammed and rushed. Couldn’t have been a movie either unless it’d be a series of movies. Which given how fast you want to get to the point, doesn’t really work.
I get it, again the show is just about trauma messing people up. But like, the baby surviving when we never hear about it in the present would be way more interesting. Thing is, it's painfully clear there is ultimately going to be no mystery. Nothing supernatural or strange. Just people processing unspeakable trauma through different methods including delusion. That's not artsy, it's just teasing people who like interesting stuff.
the whole premise of the show is to play on trauma and the unreliable narrator of people who experience trauma. the whole point of the show is reality (trauma) vs supernatural. they are never going to specifically say it's all delusions or trauma based either. your opinion on what is 'interesting stuff,' is just that, an opinion. i think exploring trauma in this way is way more interesting than a straight forward paranormal/supernatural being at the cause of it all.
WOW i am just realizing that as she's having the nightmare of this, Lottie can see her, almost like she knows it's happening and that its the demon giving Shauna this image...
There is no demon. They are going to cop out and it's all going to be the darkness of dealing with trauma and stuff. Trust me, there's no supernatural mystery. It's all just going to be trauma projection.

I think they should focus more on the trauma, the daily challenges of surviving, the descent into the murderous cult; all of this, up to the point of their rescue... They already showed us that they are good at this, but they showed us nothing about supernatural. All the showed about supernatural were teases. They even allowed international distributors like Crave to fill this series in "Sci-Fi", which is a big lie so far. This is Drama, not Sci-Fi nor Mystery. this isn't a supernatural show. that's what people need to realize. there should be no team reality and no team supernatural. they are never going explicitly state EITHER. that's the whole point, as i said in the other comment. it's supposed to be left to interpertation. if you wanna interpert it as all supernatural, go for it. they will never confirm it's anything, including a 'metaphor' even if it is.

This show is so boring and drags so much. All of these people that survived obviously were not meant to survive because they were all already mentally insane in one way or another before the crash.
