B) A familiar character that works in a parallel way to the plot of Undertale, just like most things have been working in Deltarune. C) Woody from the Pixar movie Toy story because that one video.
I think the funniest part of Friend Inside Me being seen as a big Chapter 3 teaser is the fact Toby made it before even Chapter 2 released, and given the recently revealed Prototype Spamton theme sounding a bit like FiM it's likely Friend Inside Me was originally meant as a teaser for Chapter 2 and Spamton, not Chapter 3.
i don't entirely hear FIM in the unused Spamton track but i see your point. I think toby will still include a reference to "friend inside me" in chapter 3, since at this point it has become such a notorious meme in the community, and he can still make it out as some intentional foreshadowing because there's a lot of (probably coincidental) evidence to this secret boss.
