    I love the video. You showed everything we need to know about 5th Avenue before we venture down there this year. I wish more TH-camrs would show great videos like this that really capture the local vibe of an area. Thanks for the great job!!

      5th is for tourists,
      the rest of PDC is for travelers and people trying to experience Mexico today.

    Ah how I miss playa del Carmen. I used to visit twice a year since 1995, however, I haven’t been there for 10 years! Looks like 5th Avenue has grown to the north quite a bit! I used to stay at Alhambra on Calle Ocho (8) right on the beach. Sadly it seems it was torn down and The Carmen hotel was built. This town is too busy for me now, I long for the days when i was only one of the few Americans there. It was mostly Germans, Italians etc. American travelers can be quite obnoxious .
    Thank you for your video, it brings back great memories 😊

    I Love Playa Del Carmen and 5th Ave. However over the past 15yrs it has become so commercialized and has almost lost its Mexican charm it once had. I still enjoy my visits there especially Halloween...I bring 20 pounds of candy from Canada and walk the streets of 5th and hand it out to all the children in costume !! Great video :)

    1:42 mins The jewelry store on the left at 1:42 mins, "Artesanias El Ti" right after "Alama del Plata" in video is a rip off store. Uncle Julio told me that "His grandfather said that if you treat a customer properly that you will have a lifetime of business"
    Well I guess he never follow his grandfather's advice.

    When you walk ,one of the things you hear is Senior Don't you remember me I'm your waiter from your resort Come and look at my parents store. They know your resort by your wrist band Many people fall fo this

    • @colorscream
      @colorscream  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is true. I would like to make a video about such a scam to prevent unexperienced trourist fall into these traps.

    • @ticmike
      @ticmike 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always turn my wrist band inside out when im off resort to avoid this, all they see is a plain white band ;-)

      the print on mine was off after two days so you could not tell what hotel it is, but the best and safest way is just to ignore people or just to say "no gracias" if you dont wont to be bothered, after that they allways ignore you and go to another person, works worldwide

      @@colorscream When Playa was a village it had a different vibe,
      but it still is a very interesting and safe place to visit,even if the
      best ceviche is at the Mega Mart.

    I’ve never been to PDC so I’m only going off of your video and others like it. What’s up with the graffiti on some of the walls you passed? Are gangs really starting to move in on this paradise?! I’ve heard and read many good things about this place but it seems too commercialized for my liking. Maybe I’m wrong! feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanx!

      I've been there many times and 5th is for tourists,
      but sitting at Starbucks watching the passing crowd
      is the favorite pastime of travelers.Two blocks
      away,real Mexico begins,bodegas and barato
      loncherias among the little hotels & hostels.
