    Wouldn't the distance to the point load (Sdp) be 30ft instead of 18ft?

      @@maxhafer7092 Ok thanks for the comment. The reason the distance is 18ft is because we are considering the deflection at 18ft. So meaning we multiply the rectangular load, the point load and the reaction all by 18ft. That is why it was 18ft and not 30ft. Does that answer your question ?
