What I do for traps is much simpler and I think easier, place a 2x2 foundation and one Dino gate facing whichever way you choose, then place door frames surrounding that (three high) and you only need 2 ceilings as this can also work as an argy trap or anything that can fit through the Dino gate. It is a nice, universal trap that I like using :)
Your right i tamed my first dire bear FIRST TIME and i rlly love them already they get a lot of fiber and has a decent weight,decent damage and decent health I rlly recommend taming one of this things it may need you to be lvl 62 but its still definitely worth it

Hey iguana, go into the snow cave, kill a dire wolf or bear, bc the levels are naturally higher in there, take the implant, revive the creature at a revival station, trap it and tame it. Bam, easy high level tame, I’m on an easy server and have a level 200 dire wolf from doing that.

If I was on your server, you could use my 248 male for breeding. He has 3.5k health, 2.2k stamina, and over 500% damage. He can trash about anything but a giga, including alphas. Direbears are my favorite mount in the game.

I named mine Baloo but I was on a server and left it at the entrance of the middle chamber and it tried to protect my does who was over there from an alpha raptor and died that surprised me though cause it was a lv 60 bear that I pumped melee in too for a while keep in mine this is easy unofficial so I don’t know how a lv 4 alpha raptor killed that thing it was a litter beast

Incase you havent learned, trilobites can give black Pearl's aswell, which spawn in the waters of most beaches on the island.
