I was a regular visitor at The Oberoi Palm Beach. It was a laid back hotel, reminiscent of the British Raj. Mr Kapoor was the GM there for a long time.
Had met all time greats like Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Tanuja, Sidhartha Shankar Ray( Ex CM) and our very own Naveen Patnaik, the first time he became CM there. Dilip Ray also used to visit the Palmbeach. From your video it looks like the charm of the original Palm Beach is lost. Still remember the evening tea party at the centre of the two wings every evening with a sound box playing old English songs, the deers and the other animals and the conch shells 🐚 they used to give at the time of check out.
One of the best sea resorts in the eastern part of India then.
