Well remember in the episode into the speed force? They said something about Barry having to take his own battle or something when Barry was having Wally save Iris. And about the Killer Frost vs Vibe, Barry doesn't want to say anything because he doesn't want to change the timeline again and Barry could have easily told Captain cold that he's going to die, but he didn't. Idk this show is making my head hurt like hell
Paul Smith it also could've been footage that they scrapped. Not everything in trailers makes it through the final cut. My theory is that H.R used Savitars blade to track down his suit and found Iris because it was at his hideout and got Iris out and used the pen to make himself look like Iris.

Honestly, I think that knock some sense into Barry. Barry heart/disposition is good not this ruthless personality. We've seen this scene so many times throughout the entire season. Repeatedly experience Iris' death. Yet this final moment got me right in the heart, couldn't stop myself from crying. I'm speechless that they've went through all these effort to prevent it from happening but as HR said, "a man often meets his destiny on the very road he takes to avoid it." Some people may say that the Iris we see died was actually HR using the face changing tech, but it couldn't have been HR because Savitar took Iris from Earth 2 and HR at that time was in Earth 1 and I doubt that it would've been Harrison from Earth 2 that used the tech. I swear this episode hit me right in the feels. I hope they fix it in the season finale.
I think iris died and everything, and then when Barry faces Savitar for it in the finale he'll create all those time remnants. However, since Savitar kills all but one remnant (since that remnant will have to become Savitar after Barry and the team shuns him), Barry will kill that remnant, breaking the loop, and undo everything since savitar came into the show. Including iris's death. I refuse to believe that all season long (well half actually), they've harped on Iris's death only to fulfill it. Think about the countless times they've shown that scene. How many times they've mentioned it. It would be the worst decision for a show to go through with it. So, since everything's in loop, Barry will kill the time remnant that becomes Savitar, just like zoom did his. Also, all the talk between Barry and Captain Cold about being a killer, and Barry doing things immoral wasn't for nothing. it's gonna happen. Just watch
Amuse they didn't even give an explanation for his absence. Maybe he was Iris all the time (even when Iris was in bed with Iris hehe) and Iris has been kept hidden somewhere.
Consider this: Team Flash went behind Barry's back with their plan so Savitar wouldn't remember how they planned on stopping him. When they tried to come up with the plan, Joe couldn't hear another sentence in which his soon to be dead daughter is mentioned, so he left that room/facility, where they were. With Joe gone, Team changed their plan. Now there are two possibilities - 1. Iris was sent somewhere, and her place was filled with HR and his "face changer"(remember, he just wants to belong and help that team, so he made a sacrifice, not only for his team, but for whole city, if you take everything into consideration) 2. Same face changer was used with Killer Frost, who came to help. Actually I would like first one to be true as it would be more emotional. So all thing considered - Barry cries for his love, Joe's heart is crushed because of his dead daughter, and looks like Savitar won. But when just after that, when Barry goes.. well.. apeshit on whole world, team tells Joe and Barry who was killed instead. So Barry knows the love of his life is alive and he doesn't make time remnants, one of them doesn't turn into Savitar, he is erased from existence, and ofcourse, if Savitar never existed, HR comes back. I know.. terrible imagination..
Remember the movie meet the robinsons when the kid tells his creation I will never create you and it disappears? That's what I think will happen on season finale

I think there's two twists here, either H.R. used the face technology and switched places with Iris without anybody knowing, or Iris really died and Barry has to make a sincere sacrifice to the speed force without creating a time remnant so Savitar is never created, then when season 4 starts he makes a deal with the speed force and leaves it then Iris is back alive.

I think the theme of the story is gonna be more about proving Savitar wrong that Barry will become evil. It's not always about being the hero and winning every battle, it's about being a hero even after losing.
