Holy crap D! This is so f’ng cool! I need you me of your bodies! Do you have a seconds or B stock because I know your level of expectation in your work is way beyond and what you think is a disappointment I’m would be magical for me! Keep up the masterful work brother!
Really loving the way these have been turning out. Would you ever consider trying a grey to purple burst like the John Browne signature Mayones Qatsi? Wanting to do that sort of finish on a 7 string, but not sure about how it would look with the Angelus dyes. Thanks!
That looks amazing! Excellent work. Is there any way we can see these bodies/guitars with the final finish? Like after the nitro/tru oil/poly has been applied?
Big D! Hopefully you'll see this. I'm doing a similar finish as this using the angelus leather dyes, then coating using Brad's tips with wipe on poly. I find that with every coat of poly, it keeps pulling out the dye. I let the dye set for 24 hours, then buffed it with the steel wool like you suggest. What gives? Any tips??
Just out of curiosity, why are you dying the same body over and over again ? Great video. I personnaly prefer the swimming pool burst. It's just a matter of of taste ;-)
I just use ink-pad aquamarine ink to stain guitars. You can dilute them with regular drug store rubbing alcohol 70% solution. Everyone needs at least one green guitar - even if it's Seafoam Green.

Loved that one
Amazing work as usual Derek! Thank you!
Love a good green burst.

3:45 I always find holding the pinky out helps with the fade. That looks awesome, D. Cheers! Chris.

I did a series of colors on this guitar body. Like 5+ different colors.
You should do a dark green center with a lighter green feather!
ERIN GO BRAGH.....!!!!
Gunna do this to my Ibanez rg. This was awesome. Do you clear coat after or no? Thanks for the awesome vid. Gunna order the dyes tomorrow!
Use the link so I get my 50 cents. Haha. You can seal this with an oil and it easy.
I'm new to your channel so maybe i'm massing something but where is the bridge cavity? Am i just blind?
What kind of stain are you using?? So badass
Angelus dyes. In the link description.
Before applying the green dyes, did you do a coat a black that you sanded back to highlight the grain pattern?
What you see in the vid is what I did. Various ways to do colors.
@@bigdguitars Cool, thanks!

Sanding sealer
You need to lock in the color with sanding sealer. Then apply finish.
By God that's a grand instrument altogether but I may be biased now!! Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh!
thanks!

Wanted to show various colors with the same figured piece. Get so many questions on the differences in the wood.

3 Card Monty send me a link to what you use.
Eventually this guitar will be 1” thick!
First....why does this matter? Anyway, love that color!
Have to beat evil brad from being first.
