I like to think I'm a good Branded player, but gods, I'm so much worse than Player is. Like the gap between me and him is greater than between me and someone who just picked up the deck, that's how good those plays are. It's also a great showcase of why I like playing the deck so much.
it's sooooo hard to play but if you're able to figure it out, my god it's so rewarding to play i genuinely haven't had this much fun playing a deck as raw as Branded. Say nothing of the gooners playing the nightmare and ido lines when it was legal
I think what makes branded fun is the amount of lines out there and picking the correct one ,but I wouldn't say it's THAT hard to pick the correct line most of the time if you played the deck enough
@@6210classick it’s wild that you just watched a video where someone played through pretty much every disruption on a full combo VV board (+ Solemn Judgement) before even activating Branded Fusion, and your takeaway is that the deck crutches on it
The fact that neither player had hand traps, and the maximus helping branded going plus 3 by the start of their turned helped a lot with breaking this field, still it took an insane amounts of understanding and love for this deck to play through a board like that and come out on top
The problem is without Maximus VV had no way to negate Branded fusion. And at this point player would have won. Because 1 Fusion forces 3 negates at minimum.
It's obvious that one of the best duels anyone would ever have is vs Voiceless voice. It has diverse interactions, not oppressive, no floodgates, and it's combo lasts 1min. Truly the Hallmark of a great design imo.
I really like the deck, I play it every now and then, but the deck can definitely play floodgates (summon limit and TCBOO being the ones I see in a lot of lists) and can play 12+ non-engine. The deck does what it does very good, very efficiently and very fast, but sometimes your hands lose to 1-2 HT's and it feels miserable without some punchy non-engine or floodgates which then again feel sacky to play against. This is not caused by the deck being toxic, but by the meta favoring decks like tenpai (and fiendsmith soon enough) that just run 20 ht's/boardbreakers. I really hope we can ban all of the good generic floodgate s/t's at one point and that the mulcharmies replace the roach (which, sadly probably won't happen). Don't care much about barrier statues/fossil dyna personally.
@@Lobohobo yeah my VV deck runs melodious engine so those turns are very much long but the main combo is still make big skull and chill with lo and some backrow. Every now and then there will be a masq, appo, accesscode, Little Knight, D. Mondo play.

However, with 10π going rampant, I get to play drytron, have 20min combo, to end on 6 omnis and 4 monster negates(which is sadly just as horrible to face as floodgates), thx for making me go first.
This is why ever since playing MD competitively I can’t hate on Branded. If I were to catalogue all of my favorite back and forth duels I think over half would be against this deck. MP3 can be annoying, and the lock is unfun garbage, but duels like this are so good. Genuinely enjoy them, win or lose.
I really want to say i agree but i can alr see some mistakes the VV player did. 1) trying to SG aluber (wrong. Let him search cont spell and pop it on activation with cont trap) I'll add more in the comments of this comment
Using cont trap to summon lo was dumb, to say the least, as was letting op. Resolve branded in white (reading the card would have made the player realize they likewise would have made MJ or atleast Furious, so they should have chained the Pendulumgraph there, not to mention that, had they not missplayed by using SG to negate Aluber, they wouldnt have even been in that akwkward position to begin with, but whatever)
Turn 3 VV player should lead with anima threaten S:P and clear borrel. Instatriggers quem and forces out a mirrorjade. After that, you use the remaining 2 bodies to make dyna mondo and threaten to spin the 2nd mirrorjade on field (if he goes for albaz fuse off ritual spell in GY e-teles 1 from deck so you can still play). After the dust settles you're staring down 1 albaz revive and furious, but if you have ANY level 7 or Higher body it doesnt matter. Go Cont Spell add back the sauravis you linked off and that eats a furious pop. Saff dump 1 add back SG, saff ritual summon SG (there is a window here for albaz revive but if they do that the ritual spell you dumped triggers and you end up having an omni for whatever they summon). So, lo revives, set another barrier and you grind it out from here. That's not a winning position anyways but it's FAR better than having nothing at all and just losing
So he had talents. So basically he should have lead with anima and use talents as soon as quem revives 1, this lets you steal furious and use it to clear branded player's board and actually win. I wanna slam my head against a wall, that VV player was terrible
I love watching this guy and Hmod going 2nd branded replays. Peak yugioh. Hmod has a mirror that he won going 2nd against Player. Good stuff. I also remember seeing a crazy otk against Snake-Eyes full combo + Maxx "C", if anyone wanna see more stuff like this.
The chat saying shit like "I fell asleep" and "so boring" tilts me to no end. Like are these all tenpai players? If that isn't what you want out of yugioh then why in the world are you playing this game?
Because it's a duel featuring the most oversupported archetype ever released with one billion effects at the end phase that give back the cards they used. Boring as fuck.
It's definitely stun players lol, Tenpai players want to see what they play against so they have certain attention span, stun players just monkeflip or surrender if they get 2nd
This is why I laugh at Branded players that claim their deck is "fair". Yes, it's "fair" in their hands, but in the hands of a great player, that deck can do anything.
It's so sad reading some comments going "eheh it's branded so I'm calling it boring by default", it's so childish. Yeah sure 99.9% of branded players and games are more boring than watching paint dry but come on learn to not have prejudice and admit when there's something good in front of you, specially since this mentality applies outside of yugioh too.
omni over there yapping about not negating the Aluber for 30 minutes. Yeah let them search for Lost so you can negate that(just negate the Aluber then) or let it through so their fusions can't be negated and get an extra search. Or they could have search for the red, they negate that and then they add it back with retribution and do it again anyways.
tbh with whatever board VV has, it always loses HARD to Branded unless you have non-engine or floodgates, or ofc if the Branded player bricked (happens quite often bc most of us play 60)
I agree with most of what you said VV has a really bad match up vs branded , but branded playing 60 cards = less bricking not more bricking cause the chances of drawing the bricks are lower
This just shows that if you're a master with any deck that you can play it higher above its normal ceiling. The pilot matters as much as the deck itself in a lot of cases.
Branded uniquely lends itself to this sort of skill expression because it's so flexible/modular with a zillion branching paths to accomplish just about whatever you need in a given situation
@ak47dragunov I agree with this, Branded has way to many cards that can interact with each other with a crazy amount of different lines the deck can take depending on the game state.
Yet the sad truth is that some decks are simply more rewarding than others. I have played so much D/D that I know the end board immediately when I see the starting hand, to the point that when Pak peaked up the deck (during BaCh), I was the chatter that had the line to win (for example, he missed a top 8 due to forgetting a random ATK boosting effect, becoming unable to OTK).
