Matas or Ron Holland at 4 is probably the worst picks we can make besides clingan. I get we weren’t great defensively but our spacing is gonna suffer with either of those guys sharing the court with Sochan.

I do not like the KJ push. I think he is still adjusting to the new role. In one season, he went from the KJ and Vessel show to the Wemby show. For a little kj was they guy, and i think him off the bench with a solid 2nd unit would be great. were still really young, so who knows? Maybe this season, he can better adjust and thrive in that role. This whole season was full of experiments so lets not jump the gun to quick

What's weird is cavs have no reason to trade Garland to the spurs unless we overpay.
Their team is built to compete now and no one we can trade will improve their team. They already traded their picks to Utah with the Mitchell trade so they can't rebuild easily. But if they do I'd love the fit of Garland with Wemby

Not really. Their team is riddled with redundancies. They don’t need Mitchell and Garland and it sounds like Mitchell is staying.
@@littlerockdoc3183 I'm not keeping my hopes up tho because while it is arguable that there is redundancy (which I don't fully believe in, if anything it is Allen and Mobley that are redundant on their team), they are better off trading Garland to another team with win-now players.
But in the off chance that they are that high for Keldon or another team joins in the trade, then yeah I'd love for this trade to happen

if SA can get him for what you suggest, I don’t see any downsides for SA. Good trade which also implies what SA needs with the 4th pick. Then maybe get a couple of projects with big upsides in the second round.

i like malaki but i dont mind trading him for darius garland since he s basically a proven version of rob dilly but i didnt watch his game, is he a good deffender? or is he a bad one?
Garland has been the starting PG on a really good Cavs defense over the last couple of years. He's super young. He can shoot the three. He's a plug and play. Oh, and I vote Knecht 3 at pick #8. Instant spacing.
I think we can get Darius with 1 of this year's picks + Cha 2025 (gonna be 2 2nd's), 1 2025 pick (least favorable of SPURS/ATL/CHI) + Malaki + Collins (For salary, and since they will possibly be moving Allen). COULD also throw in Wesley or any other younger unproven guy they might like as a project. If they still need more, thow in a pick-swap in 2027.
Garland would be nice on the spurs
So we will have 3 max contracts on the roster in the future in Wemby, Garland, and Devin. I don't think we can afford 3 max contracts, but hey if it is possible let's go for it as Garland is an All-Star player.
In that trade we giving up pretty much our whole bench scoring! They can take one or the other, but not both!

Personally I would want to keep 4 and 8. I’d be willing to offer Keldon, Branham, Jones, the Bulls pick (I personally feel it won’t convey next year) and a future pick of our own. I have my hopes for Castle at 4 and Holland at 8 because we desperately need more defenders, and trading for Garland wouldn’t help that. If we went into next year with Garland/Castle/Vassell/Sochan/Vic, I’d be stoked.

I think any PG will be better knowing they are playing with wemby. May it be trae, dillingham or garland. The floor will just open for them. Assist wise, easily you get 3-5 just passing to wemby. So i think this is really not a concern. The only concern is how much we giving up to get such PG. Just my 2 cents. 😊 keep grinding brother!

I still just don't understand people saying "Keldon doesn't fit or doesn't gell". It's clear as day that he's been a major "glue-guy" for these young guys with his energy and personality. Don't underestimate people's value just based on points per game. He can still be a great 6'th man with more time getting used to that role.

IDK, Garland is proven to be a very good player, but I'd actually prefer to draft Dilly and a wing rather than trading all of that for Darius. If it were to happen though, I'd be excited to see how it would pan out.

Malaki has potential but how bad does he want to be great? That’s my issue with him. I love his game and I think he can be great but a lot of times you hardly notice him out there. I feel like Garland fits a need more than Malaki, and I know everyone is going to bring up Garland’s post season but with Pop coaching him he has a better chance at succeeding so if he comes to our team I think we need to be a little patient give him a season to learn the system then the following season I would expect more from him and Wemby

Hello no I would rather trade for Derrick White, Anfernee Simmons,Dejounte Murray , Josh Giddey, Jaden Ivey or Ausar Thompson. All of these players would be a way better fit and a lot cheaper, so more production with less to give up.
Neither of them is a true PG...More like SG-ish combo guard.
If I have to pick one I would rather go Gidey since he would be the cheapest and is the better facilitator in comparison, however his 3-Ball needs work.
