I had to put my baby girl down 11/01/2021. I have never been so devastated. She had bladder cancer. A healthy 80lbs of American Staffy when in her prime. She was 67lbs of pitiful when we had her suffering ended. I loved her so, so much. My eyes are leaking writing this comment.

Hi Cam. I understand you not being able to look at your dog's pictures yet. It was well over 6 months before I could look at my sweet Charlie's. It takes time for you to grieve. Allow yourself time to heal. Although the hole never really heals in your heart, it is filled with prescious memories of your beloved dog. Take care. Love your channel.

Hi Cam. I hadn't been a dog person for years before my wife insisted on bringing home a little guy (1/2 Pomeranian and 1/2 Pickenese with a few years on him) He was a mess. Had a crooked mouth, a brown blotched spot on his eye and bowed front legs. Little dogs require so much attention. He loved attention and little by little he won my love. He was so sweet and always ready to sit with you and be petted. Earlier this year, he (Teddy) developed a cough. Vet wasn't sure at first what it was and meds helped for a little while but the cough came back and got worse. Eventually, the vet said his esophagus was collapsing (fairly common with one of the breeds he was). At times it was heart wrenching to hear him struggle but through it all, he loved us completely. We eventually decided that we had to have him put down. It broke my heart. For awhile (months) I teared up whenever I found something of his, a little bone chew hidden in the corner, his leash or anything that was his. I miss him dearly and my only condolence is that he'll be happily waiting on us in heaven. God Bless.

Hi Cam. My wife and I lost 2 equally precious family members and still have the 14 1/2 yr old mother who isn't doing too good.
Only thing to give us comfort is knowing as they say, ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN and we will one day be reunited ❤.
I urge all who hope for the same to seek God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
God bless you, your family and all who hope to be united with their loved ones once again.

My service/medical dog an American Dingo named Savannah Kathryne, my best friend, passed January 24, 2021. I've packed her toys, vest, leads up, there still sitting on my sofa, her bowls are still in place, her ashes are over my head where I sleep with 2 pawprints. I would rather have her back. 12 years 1 month 12 days old. I still break down and cry, my heart stills hurts. I understand. Her favorite rock is the centerpiece on my table.

Oh Cam, I am so very sorry to hear about Chunk. I lost my boy Sargent in 2018 and I still can't find it in me to put away his ashes. I miss him every day still. I've lost others both before and since but none hurt me as much as he has. He was my "heart Dog", the once in a lifetime dog. It does get easier with time, but some are just to special to move past easily. Take comfort in knowing that he thought you were too.

Story telling is a part of human DNA, so as to speak. I am very pleased you are reminding us that we love hearing and reading stories, as well as telling our own. Humans are tribal animals and when you narrate a story, in my mind's eye, I can see Humans sitting around a campfire in some ancient village, listening to Big Foot stories.

There are few things in life as painful as losing that old faithful friend, who stood by you through thick and thin. That constant friend who was always there for you. And the only thing that our furry buddies ever want from us is a look, an occasional pat on the back or a scratch of the belly, and a fraction of the boundless love that they feel for us.
Cam, I am so very sorry to hear about your partner and your friend. I do believe there is a Heaven and dogs go there. Until such day as you meet again, you have so many good memories that will keep Chunk's spirit alive and well here on this earthly plane.
Best prayers and thoughts are sent out to you Cam, and remember.. All Dogs Go to Heaven.
By the way, I absolutely love the name "Chunk." He was just a big old chunk of love I'll bet. :)

I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I had been recommended to watch the missing 412 and David P. ( You know who I'm talking about ) about 3 or 4 weeks ago and TH-cam must of decided I'd listen to you too. Well I jumped on board pretty quick.
I've spent most my time in Michigan but have lived in Colorado, Georgia and spent time in Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia ( where my relatives were born from before the Americain revolution)
I've heard a few stories and have a couple myself I may write about one day.
I'm sorry to hear about your pup, how long does it take? As long as it takes, I've got a few years on you and that means I've had probably a few more I've lost. Ones I thought I would be over pretty quick went for upwards of 2 years, they get a hold of your heartstrings and just because their no longer here don't mean they let go. Some of the most steady men I've known have let a tear or two when talking about an old hound dog they used to have, never once have I seen another man say a word about it.
Take care and thanks for the stories, this is a great channel.

Man, I know how it hurts to lose our pets. My last dog left this world almost 20 years ago and I still won't adopt another. It hurt me so deeply that although the joy they selflessly give is a true gift from the creator, my thoughts(and memories) of the inevitable parting of ways for this time around

I inherited a family of cockatiels and half of them passed away, and in my shame for not being able to keep them alive I re-homed the others to good families who could afford their visits to the vet. I feel so heartbroken and torn up about it that I could never imagine adopting another cockatiel. It's an insult to the memory of my little ones. They are truly a gift tho, they are the most selfless little beings I've ever seen

The woman who paints is very talented. I have the opposite happen with my dog, Bo, who died a few years ago. I constantly need to see his picture, his blanket, collar/license, or anything that was his. It is comforting to me. We had another dog within a month since Bo had a brother who got severely sick without him around but I miss my Bo Man so bad sometimes that I think I'm going to die. When we had to put him down, i was crying and felt a sudden pain in my chest that hurt so bad, almost like I tore a ligament kind of pain. Everytime I think of him that same spot will hurt like hell. I really think Bo took part of my heart, or at least some heartstrings with him when he left this world. I love all my dogs with every fiber of my being but Bo was my soul dog, my once in a lifetime dog, and I'm so thankful for every single second I had with him in my life.

My Gypsy, a Siberian Husky/Staffordshire Terrier mix, a beautiful medium sized pooch, left us two years ago and I still talk to her, saying Good Bye when I leave for work, coming home, saying, Good Night. She was my Bug, my blue-eyed devil dog, my wife's Little Pony, she would prance and hop all over the place, our shadow, I really miss her, sometimes with tears in my eyes. I'm convinced she might have been an Angel, as we see her sometimes sitting on our couch or walking past the kitchen table. They have their ways of worming themselves into our hearts, don't they? We has a pillow made with her face, I always rub.

I'm lovin the leaves & trees, Cam❣🍁🍂🌳🌲🌿🍃💛💚🧡 It will be 2 years for me losing my Gizmo to cancer, this coming February. He was 12 years old & I had him all but 8 or 9 weeks of his life. I still get teared up thinking of him & looking @ pics. My heart really aches, my soul too, I believe. I miss him dearly. My daughters 16 year old lab-pit mix, Tuff, died 6 months after my Gizzy-mo, (an English Mastiff-boxer mix.) Of old age. They were best friends & lived together for years. Neither of us has ever had a dog that long, probly wont again. We have fond memories also & cherish them. I don't think that ache will ever go away, it will just get more tolerable. We had ours cremated also. Thanks for the link, the portrait would be a wonderful gift for my daughter & myself as well.

The first story… “waiting for my dog to go to the bathroom in my neighbor’s yard…”. Lol! The piss and pistol! 😂

That last one you read about the Sasquatch eating the apples I've heard that one before I don't know if you read it or Nance I might have heard it from her I really liked it that was a cool one and especially that it had a dog and It got along with the Sasquatch.

Cam, I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I lost my Emma, my Belgian Malinois almost 3 years ago. I still miss her something terrible. I doubt the grief will every go away completely.
