The Stinger is a winner ! Built very well and heavy but compact. Frequency multiplier is a great feature also. I bought 2 of them for under $300. Then the price jumped up. The speaker putputs are a plug design. Which i didn't really care for at first, but actually is a very good idea. You can mount the amp, wire up the plugs and insert them easier in a tight space.
I bought me this Stinger 5 channel amp a few weeks ago.. very solid amp.. got it on sale before they brought the price back up. So I got it for a steal..
I have their 2000 watt monoblock amp and im loving it. Only problem is the bass knob being weird
The stinger looks like a great entry level 5 channel for sound quality.
The Stinger 5 Channel looks really powerful. 1300 watts and recommending a 150A fuse. 75x4@4ohm, 150x4@2ohm. Sub is 300, 500, 700 at 4, 2 and 1 ohm.
The black plug labeled input is an adapter for your low-level RCA inputs. The black plug labeled speaker on the power side of the amp is most likely going to be high level speaker inputs.
The new Stinger amps and subs seems pretty impressive. The amps always do rated power or more. I think they're trying to establish themselves and that's why their prices are so low.
The Thor 5 channel amp is rated 600 W total and they recommend a 40 amp fuse. So way less power than the Stinger. 40wx4@4ohm plus 100w on sub. 80wx4@2ohm and 200w on sub. My math adds up to 520 Watts total. I don't think they are comparable.
I like Hifonics, have since years ago but the Stinger is def the way to go here.
They do every bit of there claims and more not to mention sound good.
That new stinger line is hard to beat.
Nice video, I’m thinking about getting this stinger 5 channel amp to power my Skar 12” tube and my other speakers. Just not sure, but I know stingers makes great amp wiring kits lol. Think I’ll take the 160 risk unless you suggest something else?

If I was looking for a 5 channel, the Stinger would be it. I like it better than the Skar 9005 just because this one has actual sub output instead of small gauge wires from a harness like Skar has. AND.. the Stinger has a broader, more flexible crossover compared to the Skar. 😁 I might just get one of these anyway.
Just make sure you purchase a Line Output Converter for your amp! Specifically a Recoil or Kicker LOC. I/ve seen almost 2 dozen tested and these 2 are the only two I saw not distort your signal. In fact they actually "filtered" the signal. And by running a LOC you boost the signal to the amp so it runs cooler and sounds better. Most Preamps on head units only give you a 1-3 volt signal to your amp. An LOC can give you up to 8 or 9 volts, but recommended is 5-7 volts. The Kicker works automatically, the Recoil is adjustable. It's the best $25 you can spend on your car stereo I promise! And I doubt you would go wrong with this Stinger 5 channel amp. Though you still may need a capacitor (or a couple) if you don't want to replace your alternator. That is the best way to go since most car alternators don't put out alot of amps, and typically only have about 20% capacity left for other devices if it's night time, and raining, got your air conditioning running, you may find cranking up your stereo to be a problem. It aggravates me to end the amperage of most car alternators. But here's one for ya. If cars all move to EV's only, what happens to the aftermarket car stereo marketplace? You can't add or change your alternator on an EV. And everyone I talked to because of the drain on the battery the car stereos in EV's are like something out of the 1970's. Total crap! You pay $90,000 for a car, and the stereo sucks. I hope to God common sense prevails because EV's are not about reducing pollution, just your freedom. Because only rich people can afford them. And due to their electronics, the Government can push a button and the EV turns off. No getting away from the police from this speeding ticket. EV's are about reducing freedom, and making you ride a moped, or walking. EV's are not the answer. Using Hydrogen gas to power combustion engines is the answer. In the fuel tank, it's just water. Then through electrolysis you seperate the hydrogen from the oxygen, and then only steam comes out of the tailpipe. No difference in performance either than gasoline. So you got your muscle cars, and no pollution. By the way in the 1920's there were 10 electric car companies in AMerica. All New York City taxi's back then were all electric. But you didn't sit on a giant battery that took 2 days to charge. Instead, the batteries were under the hood or trunk, and they could be removed to be charged, and a fresh battery pack installed so you can go on your way and not be stuck at home for days charging your EV. Now that is how you build EV's and their battery packs. . As far as subs go If you need to get one I would recommend checking out Sevard Audio. They are the best subwoofers for the price I think. And don't forget about that LOC, and only those two are worth of your money honest. Take care and good luck with your car stereo build!
They have the RCAs pigtails that plug into the amp. I was just checking out the Stinger SPX1000x5 which in short brought me here. Both the inputs and outputs are pigtails with molex connectors on that one.
With this amp, and one of their loaded sub boxes plus coaxial speakers you can have speakers in all 4 doors, subwoofer and amp to drive everything for under $500! This is the Only company offering mid-grade stereo equipment at a low cost. I wouldn't call Stinger a "budget" brand. But do you really want a budget brand to start with or do you want something you can be proud of and shake the neighborhood? I don't work for Stinger, I just recently checked out what they had and they have expanded their product line quite a bit since I last checked them out. They started off only selling accessories and amp kits. I give Stinger 2 thumbs up. Even their coaxial speakers use a silk dome tweeter instead of "PEI" like so many other brands.

The test I saw I thought the amp did 25% over its rated power. But the efficiency of the Stinger amps is what really impressed me.
There box isn't bad either for a prefab box it's braced and tuned okay.👍✌️💯
The hi fonics is 4x40 and 1x200 @ 4 ohms its a much weaker amp, but its netter fir marine or power sport applications

There is Nothing on the market that touches this Stinger 5 channel amp for the price. Even the knobs for your filters are metal. I'm really impressed so far on Stinger amps. Normally I like to go with Marine stereo eqpt. for my car, and Stinger makes those as well. And for only like $30 more than their car amps. That's crazy. I don't know how Stinger does it because I've seen their amps being tested, and when you get to see the inside of the amps they are well designed and use very good components. I've seen reviews on the subwoofers, and they perform well but seem a bit pricey. But for another $40 over the price of the sub you can get one of the nicest sub+box combos out there.
So I’ve been checking out a few of your videos on SQ. I just had my kenwood 5 channel (XR-5s) fry from water intrusion. That amp sounded amazing, it’s quite loud and crystal clear. They don’t make it anymore and if they did it be too much anyway, I got mine free. I swapped in my 2 Taramps Ds440/4 and sure they are louder but after hearing that Kenwood these sound awful full tilt. I can’t un hear the dirty sound coming from that kenwood, considering how great I thought the taramps sounded on my other vehicle. I recently learned what signal to noise ratio means and that kenwood xr5s has a high one. I also noticed my Soundstream Rubicon Nano RN4.1400d has a very high S/N. I haven’t heard that one yet, however I’m intrigued as it’s rated 125w rms at 4ohms. That amp is priced right around hear as well. Do these under $300 amps keep up with the JL, Rockford, audiocontrol etc amps in terms of clarity? Will they be an upgrade from my taramps? Taramps S/N 89db, Kenwood 92db, Soundstream 102db
IMO first look for a JL audio 450/4 old one from like 20years ago. if thats a dead end, go with Audio Dynamics 600.4 its a very clean amp. there are many out there, im judt pointing you at a couple i know very very well.

The guy that design the recoil amp use to work for cerwin Vega car audio and did some of there amps. Then started working at recoil.💯👍✌️😉
